An Arkansas fan shared this great story with us. It seems appropriate now:

Can we agree that there's a happy medium between 3-9 and the 11-1 that some of your fans have been predicting?

How many dumbasses are predicting 11-1? I can't find a loss on the schedule.

guys lost a coach who transformed the team from a 4 win team to an 8 win team, who had six bowl wins in his tenure, which hadn't been accomplished in over 40 years by MSST as a whole program.

To be fair, whoever replaced Crxxms would have had the same success in Starkville. We were primed for improvement when we got rid of Larry Templeton as our AD. Bama, being the juggernaut they are, has made every team in the West have to be better than they were. Moorhead will at least maintain our current level of success, but my money is on him improving us because he actually seems to give a shite.

State is in a shaky situation now. Mullen elevated the program from bottom rung of the SEC to middle rung. That is undeniable. State has the opportunity to move up in the pecking order now. If Moorehead continues what Mullen started, State will take over as Mississippi’s top football school and secure their status as a middle tier SEC program.

If Moorehead fails, State will fall back down to the bottom tier.

I think they'll be around 7-6 or 8-5. I'd put Bama, A&M, and Aubie ahead of them at a minimum. Then the question is can Orgeron win an extra game or two, or will the Dawgs beat LSU again? I think Arkansas will have more trouble adjusting to their new coach this year than MSU. But long term, I think Morris was a better hire than Morehead, but not by a wide margin.

Man, I know you're being sarcastic with this post but, every single point you listed in your op is true. Lol, every last one of them. State will have a good team this year, but they won't win anything of significance. State won't be able to maintain true success like the bigger, better programs can. It's just the way it is, and there's nothing wrong with that. State isn't a powerhouse program and never will be. Their biggest problem, other than those you listed yourself, is that they're in the same division as LSU, bama, auburn, and Texas am...not to mention the other big time programs in the sec east.

Good. Y'all have one 9-4 season and think you're going to lay waste to the conference. You frickers need to put back down to reality.

3-9 is a helluva stretch, but never discount a snyder coached kstate team. Sure they dont have the high profile recruits but they are always ready to play.

Well This is same for Missouri. Got to win 8 regular games this year. That is only way Missouri continue to keep football from failures after a good season.
