You can take a spring game however you want. It's nothing more than a practice that get national exposure. At least 10 players were held out and not counting the incoming freshman. To answer your question, I don't think he is going to be Dak good but close. The running backs look solid and that will help.

3 of the 4 interception were on the receivers not positioning themselves to fight off defender
Or Danztler making a better play on the ball than the receiver could. Anyone who looks at him last year throwing and look at passes in spring Game can see his accuracy is greatly improved. We just had shitty receiver play.

He was missing Dear, Gray and Green. He was a green jersey and how many of those would he tuck the ball and run.

As far as the 4 picks in the spring game go, it's difficult for a dual-threat QB to keep defensive backs honest when you aren't allowed to use one of your biggest tools.

I didn't watch your spring game so this is a legitimate question....Was your defense allowed to blitz? Most springs games have the defenses playing vanilla as shite and that should have allowed Nick to have a ton of time in the pocket.

And us handcuffing Shea's running ability didn't hurt his stats. Nick just isn't a good passer(not saying he can't improve). He's an outstanding runner and a below average passer based on his stats last year which had him throwing to one of MSU's greatest WRs of all time(statistically speaking)

It's a scrimmage and there is no contact to the qb. That eliminates the read option which Fitz does well and opens up the passing game.

Yeah, I'm fully aware of that.

There's also no blitzing which doesn't force the QB into much pressure. My point is that you can't defend Fitz's performance because of being handcuffed and not recognize the same difficulty that the defense face.

no. He's not. Jones ran a 4.37 and had a cannon it was his accuracy that was the problem

He isn't gonna be very good at all... You guys shouldn't prepare for him. In fact i don't expect any teams to watch film on our offense we are gonna be that bad. I expect your defense to dominate us this year.

The height of the athletic dorm ceilings are 10 feet. Thank you for your interest.

He has nowhere near Matt Jones' speed

Ya, I don't really get that comparison. He might end up being a better scrambler/runner at the end of the day but I don't think he has Matt Jones straight line speed at all.

They're both tall QBs who run away from defenses. I'm sure Jones had a faster top speed, but to deny the comparison is silly

Well, with that logic

In all seriousness, the way he plays though reminds more more of Johnny. I understand they aren't very simpler build wise but running style. Matt Jones just had such long strides that it would really be hard for me to compare him to anyone.

I think the comparison comes from tall athletic white boys that can out run defenders. Nick is 4.6 where Matt was 4.4.

I knew that Fitz was tall but will admit that I thought Fitz was a little shorter than 6'5"

Nick? no where close Johnny's playmaking ability. He is way more similar to Matt. Watch the highlights of Matt running a zone read or option then watch Nick. Very similar.

I will not compare him to Dak but will say few saw the potential after Dak's sophomore season, the knock on him was he was a one dimensional running QB.

Fitz was splitting practice/playing time early last year and a year of being "the man" and the increased reps will certainly help.

I trust Mullen to develop his QB and an improvement of any type will mean he puts up some pretty big #'s, not sure it will translate to many more wins though unless the D pulls it's head out it's arse.
