Arkansas seems to think their run defense is good. I disagree

They're 72nd out of 77 teams. 5th worst in college football.
They are EASILY the 2nd worst run defense A&M will face this year (Ole Miss is just bad at everything)

This is really pathetic. Are you guys going to do this all season? Goodness...
I'm not sure I would call being 3-1 against SEC teams pathetic, but that's just me

What does the official Arkansas site say the record is? Not 3-1

Our defense is averaging 2.5 picks a game and mond is notorious for throwing a few to the other team I expect spiller to get his because I believe he’s right up there with najee Harris as one of the best backs in the league. I predict mond to throw 2 or 3 picks 1 or 2 tds spiller to go for about 130 and a touchdown and we beat y’all 31-24, 34-28 something like that. Hogs by a td

Arkansas is 2-2. And the equivalent running attack is UGA. How did you fare against them?
We held them to 2.9 yards per carry.
We’ve been rushing 3 and dropping 8 most of the season to shut down the pass, of course we’re going to give up some rushing yards. But I don’t give a shite if someone runs it down our throat for 40 yards down the field if all it takes is one penalty or tackle for loss to get them into 3rd and long where the QB has to force it into coverage. We’ve been banged up on defense all year, hopefully the BYE week allows us to get some of our better players back.

I'm not sure Mond will have to throw much. Your running defense is pretty poor

There is much more to playing defense than how much yards you give up.

You do realize we have one of the best defensive tackles in the sec right? And one of the best linebackers. And one of the best safeties..

don't really care, Arkansas won the game on the field at Auburn
We've been over this though

If A&M starts running the ball a lot then we won’t drop 8 into coverage. Pretty simple really. But you don’t play the run against teams like Ole Miss or MSU who throw the ball all over the place. You wait for them to make a mistake like a penalty or a turnover, which we did and it worked out. We did pretty well against the run from UGA as well. But I will say Auburn was probably the worst we’ve done against it all year, Tank Bigsby was just a freak and it took 8 guys to get him down lol.

A&M's running game has come into its own over the last few weeks. We ran all over MSU as well, and I would say their DL is much better than Arkansas

it's cool, literally all of our opponents have underestimated us

In college football today...defense isn't judged on number of yard a given up...yards are irrelevant.
With the offensive ezploaion in college football...Defense is about making stops and giving your offense opportunities to build leads.
The ability to create turnovers and negative yardage plays at crucial moments are much more important than overall yardage given up.

Secondary is our weakness. But Arkansas definitely cannot exploit it

You must not have seen what happened to ole miss on the goaline when we decided to stuff the run
Posted on 10/18/20 at 4:09 pm to gohogs141
We have a good Red zone defense. We snuffed Ole Miss on the one yard line.

Hey Colorado...pass that herb and go take a nap. Defensive concepts + WIKI is your friend.
