Can't really say yay or no yay on the matter.

I still say it's time for him and MSU to move on. He just looks so unmotivated at certain times during the season.

Deep SEC Tourny runs(1 win) helped save his arse two years in a row.

I am somewhat ambivalent as to whether I would like to see Stansbury stay or go. I get frustrated each and every year with his approach to game management, transfers, and the like but could we really, really do any better? I suppose we could get lucky with an up and comer from a mid major that wants to coach in the SEC but it would be a total crap shoot.

I appreciate the consistency in post season and recruiting that Stansbury has brought to Starkville. At the same time, as long as he's here, there will be underachievment and some of the worst offensive basketball to watch in the nation.

I've never understood the Stans hate...he's loyal to MSU, has won on a consistent basis(hard to do in CBB), and has made his program maybe the only bright spot of the 2000s for the school. Sure, he hasn't made the deep runs in the NCAAs that people want but I also think people overrate some of the talent we have year in and out.

Its amazing how some State fans on a MSU message board think he is on the hot seat this season.

Hell he has won more basketball games than our baseball coach has won baseball games the last 2 years.

He might be stayin', but he's $30k poorer

quote:

Mississippi State basketball coach Rick Stansbury can now relate to Florida football coach Urban Meyer. They're both $30,000 poorer for having publicly criticized officiating.
