Stadiums where Alabama would fail to score >50 points

Was listening to the radio yesterday and Russ Mitchell was on there talking about how good Alabama is. Some of the stuff he was spewing made zero sense (go figure). Note: I agree that Bama is legit, but this is more about his claim regarding the stadiums (below).

He claimed that there were only 4 venues in the entire country where Bama would score LESS than 50 points.

- Tiger Stadium (LSU)
- Davis Wade Stadium (MSU)
- Sanford Stadium (UGA)
- The Horseshoe (OSU)

As much as I hate to admit it, Bama could hang 50 on anyone they wanted to this season.. anywhere they want to.

His argument is kind of dumb to begin with, but I thought it was a random group of stadiums.

I would have figured The Big House, the Swamp (in its prime), Camp Randall, etc. would have made the cut.

I know.. CSB. Just thought I'd share. Is Russ Mitchell usually this bad?

Bama has never scored 50 or more on us at Williams-Brice so I’m counting that as a victory in my book.

Also lol @MSU

Probably any stadium they don't play in.

That one got me too. I know the cowbells are a pain but that place holds like 62k people. I don't think many teams have historically had any trouble winning there

We shall see. I definitely believe they could if they wanted to. And I'm not even being a homer.. they could very well put up 50 on LSU in November and we have one of the best defenses in the conference and perhaps the best secondary.

Noise is overrated. It can provide a shot of adrenaline to a defense but it doesn’t hinder an offense unless the quarterback has a gash between his legs. As good as Tua is, I expect an “off game” at some point this season, he is human. I just think his off game could still net 35 points.

There are potentially 10 guys on the Alabama offense right now that could be first round draft picks one day. I just don’t think there are any teams out there with the talent on defense to stop that for 4 quarters. 10 guys could do their assignment on defense and It’s still likely that the 11th just isn’t talented enough to do his job against his man.

Can we pump the breaks on Bama’s offense just a little bit? They’re fantastic- one of the best offenses in the country, maybe even the best.

They have played 3 games, none against a team I would consider to have a good, or even average, defense.

To assume they’ll put up 50 points against anyone seems a bit premature.

Yea, it's obnoxious. It's a good offense with insane potential. It's fun to watch. Can we just leave it at that instead of having to say the most outrageous thing possible about it?

Based on what? Why would anyone say that?

It's just silly.

Did not listen to what the OP is referring to, but I assume it has more to do with the 2018 defenses who play in those stadiums vice crowd noise.

Edited to add could also have something to do with those team's offenses as well.

And then, when Alabama goes into Baton Rouge and wins a tough arse football game 23-17, every blowhard in the media that said shite like this will then start saying "SEE THAT OFFENSE ISN'T THAT GOOD IT WAS OVERHYPED THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG THERE".

As much as I hate giving the Awbs credit, I’m convinced the noise at JH makes a huge difference. Other than that, I generally agree.

I mean are they good? Yes, but seriously let them play a defense too. Last weeks ole miss win basically proved that they are capable of hanging 60 on Southern Illinois. I can see them hitting the 30pt mark on AU, LSU, Georgia tho but not garanteed at all

Exactly. It's frickin silly and it's just setting them up to them knock them down later.

Bama is very good, I agree. But they have not played a tough defense yet. The only reason I gave Ole Miss a chance was because I thought they could run up a score. Their defense is abysmal. Put Bama against a good defense (AU, LSU, UGA) and you will have a different ball game.

Like, there is a difference in "even a really good defense will have a hard time slowing them down because of all the things they do well" and "Alabama is gonna score 50 against everybody".
