With that logic, should Alabama come before Mike if they had a real elephant?

If we're going with theoreticals I would be more impressed if Notre Dame had a real leprechaun.

If I had the choice to which one to have as a house pet, it would be the collie. Bulldogs are notorious for health issues and short life span. I still love our mascot. Texas A&M has an awesome mascot as well.

I see that your willingness to be satisfied with second place started long ago.

Poor pathetic inbred dog. I guess he's at least representative of a lot of the fan base.

You'll never live this down though.

You said it so I didn't have to.

You would think a best mascot would have a longer life span

Why? I mean, using your logic a tortoise should have been named.

Best mascots are Bevo and Ralphie.

I remember when Colorado played UGA several years ago. I was stuck in traffic on I85 South. Suddenly, I heard sirens blaring and blue lights flashing. The entire interstate parted. A huge motorcade, escorted by Georgia’s finest, passed. It was Ralphie the buffalo’s trailer and accompanying motorcade heading to the airport after the UGA v Colorado game. Pretty cool that a buffalo got its own motorcade.

The problem with Mike the Tiger, is that tigers are cats and cats are miserable bastards and deserve no special regard.

Bulldog - 6-12 year lifespan Bulldog

Bluetick Hound - Lifespan 11-12 years Bluetick Hound

Collie - Lifespan 14-16 years Collie

aTm looks like they have the longest living dog mascot in the conference.

I’m not sure how this turned into a longevity contest. Fact is Uga is consistently ranked as the best mascot in the country.

Facts are facts. Try and skew ‘em all you want.

Time to step our game up and get a real Elephant. Can you imagine an Elephant running out with the team?

When Saban first got to Bama this was actually being talked about...too much of a risk, though.

Also i feel like including live animals into the mascot ranking is a little unfair. It should just include actual mascots. Ya know...college kids in costumes...

UGA is the live dog mascot.
Hairy Dawg is the costume mascot.

They had that a few times back in the black and white days. I remember DKE had one in front of their old house several years ago. Just dont think its feasible or wise to have a giant animal at a stadium full of people

That doesn't say anything. Our Bulldogs are typically retired before they die. We have a longer history with the breed as mascot.

It doesn't surprise me that SI favors inbred pieces of shite that shite themselves in their required air-conditioned captivity.

Sounds a lot like the very definition of what we know as modern-day "Sports Illustrated".

When it comes to live mascots, SI can have Uga. America chooses Nova.
