You are just hopefully assuming this to be true, that Miller didn't have any evidence. 100 hours is a lot of time to dig.
What are you talking about?
Just so we're clear...this is your response to my response about someone saying they didn't know anything was in the NOA about Tunsil.

Ole Miss fans, are you generally not concerned about possible sanctions, or are you just in that big of denial? Serious question.

I want to know why he suddenly wanted to run snitch. Did someone pay him more to tell once Tunsil left?

dude's a POS...plain and simple.
He admitted to asking a booster for cash and now he's snitching on himself. Don't forget that he's suing Tunsil.

quote:Why would anyone really be scared of the NCAA this day in age? This isn't the NCAA that nailed SMU. Bama just fired the coach (worse than a booster) for giving money to a player and got nothing. If Ole Miss has halfway competent lawyers they will skate with only a few scholarships lost, if that.

Three independent lawyers were cited in that article as saying they agreed with what we self-imposed and commended us for it.
Honest question, has the NCCA ever agree with just the self imposed penalties? They seem to always come down harder on the school. I think it is safe to assume Ole Miss is going to receive more punishment.

Steve Farese is a beast of a lawyer.
But, even still.....I'll repeat that I think the NCAA takes away a few more scholarships.

Theres been threads about this in the past that would give a better answer but Idc that much to go searching for them. Either way this doesnt sound all that good for OM.
Because I'm under the impression that the NOA and response released a month or two ago had nothing to do with the Tunsil situation, that Tunsil and Co would be covered in a second, TBA notice and response.

ULL's self-imposed penalties were pretty much accepted by the NCAA. They just took a few more than what ULL offered and imposed a $5,000 fine on them.
We've already imposed >$150,000 in fines.

All this story seems to be is one that gets people talking about the situation again, nationally, before the "other" more damaging story hits the Internet.

Doesn't that concern you a bit? How many SEC schools have this going on?

The loaner car issue, Miller getting $800 from a booster, and over $2200 worth of improper lodging for the Tunsil family was included in the NOA.

oh it concerns the hell out of us.
Pretty much every school in this conference is guilty of most of what we've admitted to. The wildcard is we have a guilty party with a huge vendetta that doesn't actually give a shite about his reputation or the school.

Additional penalties include two years of probation, a $5,000 fine, additional recruiting restrictions and an eight-year show-cause order for the former assistant coach.
Not terrible but still came down harder. I personally believe Ole Miss is going to receive more scholarship reductions, which can be very hurtful to a program for a few years.

None of this was remotely in the NOA.
There was a bunch in the NOA regarding lodging and Lindsey Miller getting paid $800. Quit being obtuse

That's the best part of this whole story. Miller got in a fight with Tunsil last Summer and had him arrested on domestic violence charges. Freeze decided to defend his player to the press, and said that Tunsil was just defending his mother from Miller. Miller really didn't like being called a "wife beater" to the press, so he decided to go to the NCAA.
Now, Miller IS pretty much a POS, and he probably wanted money from Tunsil and/or UMiss to keep quiet, but they wouldn't pay him so he talked.
Still, if Freeze would have just kept his mouth shut, Miller may never have come forward. NOW Freeze says that it is wiser to keep quiet until all the facts are in. Too bad he didn't learn that a year ago....

quote:Miller also makes it sound like he didn't just asked a booster for money and took it. It appears he also steered Tunsil away from 2 UGA commitments in order to help Chris Kiffin land Tunsil and Miller wanted to make sure Kiffin took care of him when the time came.
