Dude is seriously obsessed. Like has problems obsessed. Maybe Alabama stole his high school sweetheart from him or something.
Or maybe bigpapamac just doesn't like it when facts are presented that makes bama look bad?
I was done with this subject until more gumps decided to chime in with some BS that needed correcting.
Again.
And honestly it does get annoying having to combat gump stupidity sometimes. It is like never-ending and stuff it seems.
Anyway, enough of that for me for now. Have work to do.

So, can you tell me why Alabama won't play them in football? If they are so horrible, it would be an easy non-conference opponent. Why not help throw a little money to your extension school?
Because there is so money to be made by playing them.

hmmm. I thought UAB was more of a community college, although I know the Med School is highly regarded... but the only way UAB undergrads get to go to the Med School is via an ambulance.

You really should take a couple steps back from this thread, take a few deep breaths and get some perspective. You seem mad. Not in the 'umad' sense, but genuinely 'about to blow a fricking gasket' mad.
Just pack a picnic, go to the park with a good book and don't think about UA for a while.

I've lived in Montgomery for over 15 yrs (prayers needed), I can see the AUM water tower from my office window. I couldn't tell you a damn thing about the AUM school or athletic program, nor do I give a shite to even look it up.

Yeah, was getting a bit aggitated. I just had a work meeting, so a step back has been taken.

Yes, especially if they are out of state.

3. UAB boosters were going to pay enough money on the contract that it would have actually saved UAT money.
You're obviously not intelligent enough on your own to see what an utterly stupid idea this is, so let me help you out.
What can happen when you let individual private boosters responsible for salaries.
Allowing individual boosters to be responsible for paying a head coach's salary? Dumb as frick. What happens when the fat cat booster wants the coach fired and stops paying the cash?
Posted on 5/9/13 at 10:28 am to BamaGradinTn
If UAB administration was actually going to cede responsibility for paying a salary they couldn't afford to a few fat cat boosters over who they had no control, then yeah, someone with some administrative sense needed to come in and put a stop to it. It was an utterly stupid idea to begin with. So all this nonsense about UAB not having to worry about Fisher's salary is idiocy...the comments of Doyel and some boog blogger notwithstanding.

Most schools only pay a very small portion of the coaches salary. for example, I believe Bama only actualy pays saban around 200-300k, the rest is from private sponsorship.

How many times does a major conference team play a small school out of state? Playing in T-Town will garner the same amount of revenue, no matter which minor team they play. only difference is how much Bama pays that team to come play

Private sponsorship in the form of legitimate, government recognized non-profit organizations like Tide Pride...of course. Funding from a few select private boosters as was going to be the case with Fisher...absolutely not. Why did UAB have to resort to getting the money from a few private boosters instead of their own legitimate organization like Tigers Unlimited or Tide Pride?

You have got to be kidding. You are saying the decision by the UAT BOT was due to money?
Cmon dude. You are just making youself look stupid and most bama fans that understand the situation would not try to say it was about money.
Saying stupid stuff to try to make bama look better does not make bama look better, it just makes you look stupid.
I suggest learning the difference.

Still not the same as getting it from a few boosters who can take their money and their ball and go home the first time they get pissed off.

I think you've already demonstrated who the stupid one in this thread is. Quoting that idiot blogger was the icing on the cake. You've got to be one fricking retard to think it would ever be a good idea to rely on a few boosters to pay the bulk of a coach's salary.
