This trio was hailed as the best group of head coaches at any SEC school just a few years ago. How underwhelming have they been? Dave van Horn is definitely the only one I would currently take over what my program has employed. And even he's having a rough year.

Only Anderson has been underwhelming.

Van Horn has averaged 40 wins a year and been to 2 College World Series over the last 5 years.

Bilema took a rotting carcass that was built to be little and fast and has steadily gotten better each year the last 3 and molded them into his type of roster.

Anderson has been underwhelming.

Kind of early to say Johnson is any better than Anderson.

I'm not saying that. But Anderson was billed as a program changing hire.

Lol. No one actually. The thread about ranking coaches reminded me of this claim after Bielema was hired.

Oh ok...well I would say that Bielema looks like he is building a solid program and Van Horn has been very good. Just a letdown year for him.

It looks like the next basketball season could be a disaster for them. I think they have the money and reputation to make a good hire in basketball. Overall I would say they are in pretty good shape in the big 3 at the moment.

I don't know about better, but I'd rather have Johnson than Anderson at this point.

Anderson is basically Anthony Grant so far. It is strange to me that he seems to have relatively solid job security considering how mediocre to bad they have been.

Anderson at Arkansas
5 years
1 NCAAT
1 NIT
102-64 (61.4%) Overall
48-40 (54.5%) SEC

Grant at Alabama (first 5 years)
1 NCAAT
2 NIT
95-71 (57.2%) Overall
46-38 (54.8%) SEC

I don't know what you have been seeing but I don't think he has a ton of security. Next year is make or break imo. He had improved our win total in every year before this past one.

That makes more sense, then.

So let me ask you where would you put Arkansas' trio in comparison to the rest of the SEC.

I'd probably put them in the Top 3, but I'm an unabashed Bert homer.

I think the team can be solid but the good Jucos are going to have to step up quick. Really isn't a reason to be worst then we were this past year.

Probably middle of the pack. I was honestly convinced when Bielema was hired that they were among the best. It has to be seen as a disappointment.

I think that is reasonable or even top 5 seems fine. I guess my point is that the trio is still really solid so I don't understand the point of this thread.
