It's only recently that the best baseball players go to college. Only HS kid's drafted in the first couple of rounds are a lock to leave.

Some ranked that high write letters "please don't draft me, I'm going to college". The number of baseball hall of famers that played college is very low. A better barometer would be former MLB all stars.

I think Mawae and Faneca get in soon

In a fair world yes. Mawae was All Pro something like 8X - 7 of which was 1st team and Faneca was 9X All Pro 8 of which was 1 st team.

But who knows how they vote. Andre Tippett got into the Hall of Fame before Rickey Jackson did and Rickey had better stats in all categories than Tippett

Kentucky

Baseball HoF = Happy Chandler
Basketball HoF = Adolph Rupp
Football = Dermontti Dawson

Pretty sure they have others from each sport but too lazy to do a full list.

A commissioner and a college coach.

This is about athletes getting voted in on their pro career. Does Kentucky really not have an NBA player in the hall based on their pro career?

Wait, I just realized Mississippi State doesn't have a hall of famer from any pro sport. Is that why you're upset?

You did not specify in your OP, and it would be good if you updated your OP to reflect all schools in the conference.

In basketball I will say Frank Ramsey and Dan Issell at least, probably more if I bothered to look it up

Pretty sure UK has another baseball guy but Happy and Dawson were actually natives of the state while not as sure about some of the others.

Happy pitched a no hitter in the 1920's

Earle Combs was from KY but I think he played for what became EKU, not what became UK.

The SEC's first baseball all american was a UK catcher (forgot his name) and they had several 2 and 3 sport athletes who may have made it in baseball. Jim Host (founded what became IMG College) played at UK and did some others who's names are escaping me.

I don't think Alvin Dark is in the HOF? And besides, didn't he transfer to Southwestern and finish his college baseball career there?

Robert Horry has seven NBA championship rings, Charley B has none.

And he still couldn't get off the bench long enough to hold Barkleys jock. 7 ppg isn't getting anybody into the hall. Get over it

Oh, I forgot you were an Aub. Where individual accolades trump championships.

Carry on.

What do you think the hall of fame is about? Barkley was first ballot. There's literally a 0.0% chance Robert Horry ever gets in.
