Auburn's is easy, even though the player wasn't "terrible"

Tre Smith from Auburn.
Shitty player, and even worse had a red afro that made him look like a midget Napoleon Dynamite.
Went for over 200 yards that day.
ETA - SummerofGeorge beat me to it. Barely...

Had a guy who bought fake tickets sit in front of us (we nicely told him he could stay and we'd squish). Auburn fan. Spent entire game telling us how Tre Smith was so shifty because was a skier growing up.
It was awesome. And by awesome I mean I almost jumped off the top of the endzone (at least it was just one level back then).

Patrick Towles played the best game of his entire life vs. Mizzou last season. Dude looked like Joe Montana that day

I'm not a masochist so I'm not going to look but I would guess at least half of Jarrett Lee's career highlights came against Auburn.

Bama had one of those games once vs. Lee in 2010. He hit a 3rd down pass that won the game vs. Bama.
I remember reading on a meltdown thread that it was like watching an impotent man rape your girlfriend.

Literally every bama QB for the last 5 years.

Okay he wasn't horrible but he wasn't the kind of player that just picked up 300 all purpose yards na game real often either. It's not like he's been some awesome Pro, he's just managed to hang around the league for a while.

If DJ hadn't gotten injured, who knows how fricking good he would have been.

I was going to post this name right here. They didn't win but good Lord it looked like this kid was the next Manning against us. Shoved onto the biggest stage imaginable as a freshman and shined like a diamond against a monster defense. Weren't many that could boast they played in a National championship game as a freshman and looked like a million bucks in the process. How could he not be a star the next year?
This is a myth. Gilbert hit a couple of good passes otherwise he had a HORRIBLE night. He was 15/40 and threw 4 interceptions but everyone remembers that pass to Shipley when the safety blew the coverage. Gilbert did not have a good night

No, George, Fred Talley wasn't "terrible ". In fact, he was quite "good"....

Maybe his final stats weren't great, but he looked good for a freshman and they stayed in the game into the fourth quarter. A lot of people thought he would be a stud the next year based on his performance.
Not sure what this has to do with Coker, but I'm a pretty reasonable, rational fan, and I don't yell for anyone to get benched.

Talley ran for 768 yards in 2000. 161 of those (21%) were against Auburn.
Talley ran for 1,119 yards in 2002. 241 of those (21.4%) were against Auburn.
In his entire career, Fred Talley ran for 2,661 yards in 33 games at RB. 427 of those 2,661 yards (16.0%) came in 3 games (9.1% of total) against Auburn.
In 2000 and 2002 he ran for a total of 1,887 yards. 402 of those were against Auburn (21.3%).
So, he was a solid player, but he was a Heisman player when it came time to play Auburn.
