The last thread got me thinking, who is the best quarterback to play in the SEC and never win a Heisman?
My pick is Peyton, he had 3819 yards and 36 touchdowns his senior year. 60.2% completion with a 147.7 efficiency rating. The big man also had 3 rushing touchdowns.
He accounted for 5 touchdowns in a single game FOUR times over the course of his senior season. Threw for 523 yards and 5 touchdowns against Kentucky. Had a 373 yard, 4 TD performance in the SECCG.
Who do y'all think is the best SEC quarterback to never win a Heisman?

I'll go with Matthew Stafford. He still has a few years of a NFL career to go also.

Is this overall (College + NFL) or only college?

How about just say all of the Mannings and be done.

Peyton Manning embodied everything the Heisman Trophy claims to represent. Woodsen made 5 big plays all year, Manning had 30 a game.

I meant college plus pro. I think we haven't seen his best yet. 3-4 years ago his NFL numbers were up there with Brady, Brees, and Rodgers.
I think he has room to grow still.

If you are going to remain surly after 18 years, at least spell Charles Woodson's name correctly. It seems as though he was really good at football, too, all things considered. Peyton lost the Heisman trophy to a first-ballot HOF'er. Deal with it.

Peyton Manning for sure, unfortunate that he had to play against the Greatest SEC QB with a Heisman, Danny Wuerffel.

This is nothing but a homer pick by you. I don't care at all for Peyton. But Stafford has done nothing and never will do anything Peyton did while in College or the NFL. The comparison isn't even close.

I'd put Eli, Peyton, Shuler, Archie, Couch, Stafford, etc over Dak. Dak was an awesome college player, but there have been a lot of awesome SEC QBs not win the Heisman

So, Peyton won't be a first ballot HOFer?
