1961 AP and UPI (also NFF)
1964 AP and UPI (Arkie won the FWAA, Bama the major polls)
1965 AP (also FWAA... the same one that Arkie claims for 64)
1973 UPI (UPI=coaches poll; now the USAT)
1978 AP (also NFF and FWAA... Hey Arkie)
1979 AP and UPI (also NFF and FWAA... again Arkie)
1992 AP and UPI and Bowl Coalition Champion (and NFF and FWAA... again)
2009 AP and USAT and BCS Champion (NFF and FWAA)
2011 AP and USAT and BCS Champion (NFF and FWAA)
The other championships that Bama claims are historic... 4 Rose Bowl Championships (1925; 1926; 1930; and 1934).
The only NC that most Bama fans do not like to claim is 1941.
So, as I see it, 9 (poll) + 4 (historic) - 1941 = 13.
So, "deal with it"; "U mad?"; and so on, etc.

Vandy and MSU were good back then. MSU actually won the SEC that year. Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to 1941

Or go back to the ones from 2010. There are enough shite claims to go around in CFB, anyway. Some pretty damn close to 'Bama geographically.

At the time they needed one more to push them ahead of Notre Dame. Why they picked 41 over 66 is a totally different question.

FACT: Bama is one of the top 5 most storied programs in college football history. Period.

shite, i'm glad they didn't use 1966. Aside from 1941, Any Title we have after 1936 is AP, UPI, or BCS. I don't want a poll era claim when we didn't get any of the polls(That would be doing exactly what ole miss does). Did we get screwed? Yeah, but we weren't the only team to ever get screwed. Drop 1941, Keep our 4 Rose Bowl years and our 9 poll era Titles. We have 13 legitimate claims without trying to bump it with some bullshite like 1941

Or just say we've had a typo in every media guide/promo/message board post/etc. and say 1941 should have actually been 1945 and keep our same number. Main thing is the 1941 title really needs to be done away with

I think most fans realize that we should NEVER have started claiming 1941, it puts into question the others. The MODERN era as the picture showed is 9, this is backed up by the Bama Media Guide which showed 6 in 1983, add 3 and get to 9.

I really don't know why Bama feels the need to claim them. Bama has 9 legit titles (although the 73 title is complete BS too. The AP changed the way they did things, because of Bama in 64 and the UPI was 10 years behind, which is totally inexcusable.)
You would think that having 9 somewhat legit titles would be enough for Bama, but for some really deep insecure reason Bama fans feel the need to claim 14. I really don't understand the need either, since Bama has the richest and most successful history of any program.
