If Stallings were coaching the 1999 team, do they beat Tennessee and/or Michigan?

We definitely don't lose to La Tech, probably beat Tennessee, and we wouldn't have played Michigan in the Orange Bowl.

Fran from Bama

Coach BG for A&M basketball. I'd welcome him back with open arms at this point.

If Nick Saban had been at LSU in 2006, we would've won the MNC instead of Florida. Oh, well at least we won the NC in 2007.

This. One of the biggest mistakes in Georgia athletic history and it has cost them.

Stallings.

Only one in my lifetime. Wallace Wade is probably the only other one in Bama history.

Obvious one is Petrino, though he didn't exactly leave on his own terms. However, though we wouldn't have been this bad the last 2 years with him, his recruiting would have eventually caught up with us.

As for the last few decades, I'd say Ken Hatfield. Him bolting for Clemson forced us to make a rash hire of Jack Crowe and walk into the SEC with an inexperienced head coach.

RC Slocum.

We had Reggie McNeal at Qb and Sumlin as our OC. Plus a defense. We could have been really good.

Slocum had lost a step recruiting, but who knows how much was him vs our outdated facilities.

Plus keeping him would have avoided the Fran/Sherman years.

He was not fired, his son is currently a walkon on the Auburn Team and Tubs was at the Iron Bowl pulling for Auburn. There are a lot of personal reasons why Tubs needed a year off. I know we paid him, but he could have stayed. Think about it, we hired Mr. 5-19 to take his place.
