I have said it before and I will say it again, conference play will be a bloodbath this season.
You could very easily have Omaha contention level teams going 16-14 or 15-15 and being happy.
There are going to be some pissed off 1 seeds getting a .500 SEC team as a 2 seed this year

Yep. Most everyone is excited about their team this season because so many players are coming back with the extra eligibility and short draft.

This. An obscene amount of talent in the conference this year.

I don’t recall LSU ever being a poor hitting team
LSU was no hit by Oklahoma, and had a shutout loss against Eastern Kentucky. 12-5 going into SEC play, a 0.253 batting average, and about to go up against a #5 Ole Miss team on a 16-game winning streak. The cancelling of the 2020 season may have saved Paul Mainieri's job.

Why go to all that effort instead of using the real thing?
They last longer and are cheaper. This doesn't matter in P4 ball, but it does in the lower divisions.

Just saw today that Blaze Berry had transferred from MSU to EMCC.... any reason why he left ?

This is why South Carolina has done pretty well when they get to tourny time. After going through the SEC gauntlet the ncaa tournament is a breeze.

Kentucky can't be worse than the last two seasons, so we have that going for us. Still questionable pitching staff and defense. Seems to be a quiet optimism around the program right now, but I don't think we have prolific arms on staff like we last did with Hjelle.
