I choose to believe it was a takeaway game, Kim.

Agree. Exactly like the first game. Bama gave that game away with uncharacteristic turnovers and missed field goals.

OU believed they created those opportunities.

Same idea in this game

Not gonna lie, I tried to hang myself from the shower curtain, but the rod broke. Congratulations on the win, and good luck.

On the INT, Mateer was baited by the pre-snap look, and thought that spot was gonna be open. He was fooled, and admitted so in the post game presser.

He did the same thing twice vs. LSU. Didn't even look that direction until he started his throwing motion.

If I had to categorize this BAMA team under Coach Deboer, now that it's in its second year sample size, it would be pretty simple. We can beat any team, anywhere, at any time. We can also be left wanting for lack of effort that defies understanding.

Until last season's 12-team expanded playoff, Ohio State would have never made a 4-team playoff after their 2nd loss to Michigan at home. They got the mulligan and figured it out, finally. Georgia went through multiple losses that defied logic and got into a playoff after they had been beaten by BAMA in the SECCG. The same kind of loss that got them eliminated the next time against BAMA in the SECCG. Go figure.

The second season can still be a place to get it figured out.

That’s basically the Bama narrative the first game. I haven’t seen a single person say “we killed ourselves” from Oklahoma.

Yes, it does kind of suck that Bama can say they "beat themselves" in their loss but OU can't say that in this loss.

Ultimately, I think OU should still be proud that they went in and became the first visiting team to win at Bryant Denny since 2019. That is really actually amazing considering the limitations the team has.

And they should be proud that they moved the ball pretty well against Bama in this game to show that the offense wasn't as bad as they looked in the first game.

OTOH... Bama should be proud that they got out of their funk of the last few games and the first quarter of this game to go on and control the game and win on the road.

But I still don't know why they couldn't have just switched opponents with A&M so we wouldn't have had a rematch in the first round.

It was pretty easy to predict OU would fall early in the CFP. (And this is not disrespect, just fact) The D is very good to elite, the offense is putrid. They looked good early, but came back down to earth & back to what they were all season, hence the reason OU is done. Once Bama figured out they needed to get some pressure on Mateer, he folded like a cheap suit.

I know that most of the posters on this board watch an inordinate amount of college football but what happened in Norman happens in CFB several times every week in CFB. High profile game, stoked home crowd, home team gets out to a lead....sometimes a big one....and about halfway through the second the juice is used up, no longer has the impact it did, and the visitor slowly gets back in the game. Sometimes the rolls are reversed...the home team stinks up the joint, settles in and gets back in the game. Its pretty normal. Norman was ON FIRE to start the game....and it helps tremendously....but at some point physical ability starts to outpace juice and many times overtakes it. Eventually you have 2 teams simply playing football and more often than not the one with the deepest talent is going to prevail. The home field advantage is real....it can mask some discrepancies in depth and ability and if it can mask them long enough you get an "upset"...

(Not so) hard to kill

Seriously, someone in Oklahoma should have called down and put a stop to the "3rd quarter show". OU was proving to be anything but hard to kill when 50 Cent emerged LOL....someone in the program offices should have put a stop to that shite LOL....

Oh look, an LSU fan doesn't recognize a defensive scheme when it happens. Shocking.

I’m surprised it took y’all that long. But I did know that Bama would flip the switch and here we go.
Thanks for spanking those land stealing idiots.

I'm pretty sure Ty Simpson got more fired up about 50 Cent coming out than all the dirty filthy land thieves combined.

Reread the game thread, those first 30 pages or so had Alabama fans whining and wailing.

They are fortunate to have a coach who kept his head and figured out how to slow down the Sooner offense and getting his offense on track.

Hell Alabama fans have been calling for Deboer to be fired since he was announced LOL...fans are that way. That said the show that Alabama put on after weathering the storm should serve as a cautionary tell for Indiana. They have a month to eat rat poison and congratulate one another on being elite....everyone involved is telling the players that they are elite....while Alabama is sitting in Tuscaloosa watching film of Oklahoma violating them for nearly a half of football. That kind of stuff matters in all sports but especially with amateurs, many of who are still playing because they love the game. Indiana better put their big boy britches on and strap on their helmets and knock the shite out of one another for a month or Alabama will do them for 4 quarters what Oklahoma did to Alabama for nearly a half....

I hate if for you guys that OU got Bama in a rematch. It's hard to beat a good team twice in a season. See Alabama vs Georgia this season and in 2021.
