He probably is. And that is probably perfect if you are a male softball coach.

Here are a few pics from the wedding.

Every coach has shortcomings. Bear Bryant. Nick Saban, John Wooden. Patty Gasso. They all had or have shortcomings.

I don’t see Tennessee fans acting like you, fatkid and AMH even though the exact same thing happened to them yesterday.

At this point it looks like you are simply complaining; emotionally venting; but not doing a single thing to change anything.

It you really want to help, stroke a six-figure check earmarked for softball NIL.

Burnt Orange has replaced regular Orange in the conference alignment.

Tennessee and Florida are now second tier.

Alabama softball has historically underachieved when it gets to OKC but it's hard to criticize Murphy too much. 16 WCWS appearances in 28 seasons and having one of the top 7 or 8 softball programs in the country this century is nothing to sneeze at

Alabama softball didn’t even exist until 1997. For the first two years they played their home games at Bowers and Sokol Parks. Anyone from the Tuscaloosa area who played baseball growing up and/or played church/rec league softball is very familiar with playing on those fields. Alabama literally played at a public park their first two seasons. They didn’t even have a stadium until 2000.

It is pretty amazing that Alabama has gone from that to a top 10 program all time in 25 years. Patrick Murphy and Alyson Habetz did that.

And many of them worked tirelessly to fix them. I'm not seeing the same from Murph.

Why would I donate six figures to a program where I don't trust the coach to spend it on the improvements that are necessary? What's my ROI there?

There are plenty of Bama fans that will tirelessly white knight for Murph and that's fine. If you're happy with the state of softball at Bama, good for you. Some of us are not.

Regardless, unlike some other posters, I'll agree to disagree instead of continuing the back and forth with you.

You’re acting like this just started with Murphy. I’ve been following this for 20 years.

In the beginning it was an accomplishment to make it to OKC. #1 overall seed in 2010 - couldn’t overcome Hawaii at home in the supers. Then we worked our way to the semis but couldn’t conquer Florida. After 2012, it felt like the start of a run. Instead - Florida went on their brief run before Oklahoma completely took over. In that spans, Clint Myers came to Auburn and made Murphy take a backseat.

What has Alabama done since 2012? One championship series appearance. The same problems in OKC every year when it’s time to face the best teams. In that span he’s wasted 3-4 years of Osorio and Fouts when they were top three pitchers in the country. He had both and couldn’t even make the championship series. My fear is we’re about to do the same with Briski.

The problem is his supporters refuse to tolerate any criticism of him. I appreciate his commitment to everything Alabama but it’s ok to say he’s underwhelmed mightily since 2012.

I don’t doubt that. I have seen you in the game threads. You would complain about a blowjob from Sydney Sweeney because you didn’t like the shoes she was wearing.

I still have not seen a suggestion on who to replace him with or how to pay for it.

At this point it is just emotionally wounded fans venting.

Lost 5-4 and 1-0, beat Texas 2 out of 3 in the Regular season, the ump was calling no balls at all, Bama had one walk in 2 games and that was "semi intentional.

Texas and OU come in and he takes Bama to the #1 overall seed. Bama has money, they probably can compete better now with better facilities etc.

TBH, it does excite me, I was pulling hard for them this year because 30 years ago I played basketball with Giles dad. But I think the kids had a great season and came back in game 1. I felt he should have left Briski in game 1 and we would have won after tying it up. He was saving her for game two. Maybe, just maybe we have to give Tech credit. AND they were willing to pay money for a softball player, that was Texas Oil Money.

He raised the bar - you’re saying be satisfied with him not being able to sustain. Auburn has a more recent championship series appearance than Murphy and Myers hasn’t been there in seven years.

You call it emotionally wounded - I call it the Murphy experience. Always good, never great.

No, I keep asking over and over who Alabama can get that will have better results than Murphy. And I keep asking who is going to pay for it.

And no one seems to have an answer.

“Just be happy to make it to the WCWS.”

Here we are, almost 30 years in and being told this is the ceiling. Blame NIL and every other factor.

I’ve accepted the fact that this is who Murphy is and he’ll never be able to overcome the emerging powers.

ETA - 1-2 against Tennessee this year, 2-2 against Texas but blown out in the tournament final, 0-2 against Tech.

3-6 against the other semi teams - sounds about right.

It's obvious Murphy is a top tier HC considering his group is constantly in the WCWS.

If anything Bama needs to give him an Anatoly broom stick and let him keep using it to re-tear down the ceiling.

The Bama fans I know in real life like Murphy too much to be discussing this. They also say softball is better than baseball and all that jazz.

Pat Murphy has been the same for years. Amazing pitching, great regular seasons, can make it to OKC and might even win a few games there.

But when it comes to the semis or the finals - the biggest games of the year against the best teams - the bats go ice cold and the elite pitching can’t sustain.

He hasn’t been to the finals in 12 going on 13 years. The one national title seems like forever ago and yet Murphy keeps doing the same shite and the hardcore fans just shrug and say “he built it, it’s his, that’s our Murph!”

Murphy is probably still a top 5 coach in the country; definitely top 10. But, this is true. The offense is too old school. Even look back to the 1 natty he won in 2012. Alabama had their big inning when Keilani RIcketts of Oklahoma was forced to pitch in heavy rain because all of ESPN's broadcast and camera crew were flying out the next morning and they wouldn't postpone the game.

All this talk about how Clint Myers took it to him (had a winning record over Bama in his 4 seasons with Bama only taking 1 series over Auburn during that stretch). Here is a point about his shortcomings. Mickey Dean... I repeat MICKEY DEAN took 3 of 4 series from him.

And to all of you wondering about the replacement, isn't it obvious that Kayla Braud will be promoted and Ryan Iamurri will remain on staff? EDIT: I am talking about retirement, not firing.
