just trying to be realistic. I love college football. but the scientific "experts" say they would have to play in a bubble. since there is zero tolerance on anyone getting sick, what happens when a player tests positive after a game. that means everyone has to quarantine for 2 weeks. so how are you gonna have a season?

if we don't get back to common sense and get back to life, we won't have anything.

And remember, all the universities are run by libtards who believe in the scientific dictatorship. those of us comprising the great unwashed just need to do as we are told.

If we have games, I'll be there ... that said, I'm doubtful. Hopeful but realistically, doubtful.

I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing the season get shifted to start after the election because that might quieten the woke SJW bullshite for a bit.

Honestly I don't think anyone knows how this will play out. We have been in uncharted waters since all of this started so who knows!

I hope it shuts down for two years. Long enough for the Gators to get their chomp back and Georgia to get their song back. I hate them in a sports kind of way but it sucks for their fans to have traditions removed because of weak, cowering pansy SJW's.

As long as the NCAA can check the block on a “season” and get the TV revenue there will be a season of some sorts. I’m thinking somewhere between limited to no fan attendance, depending on the geographic area and time of year. Too much money in it for the powers that be for them not to have it.

I’m not so sure. In the current climate, people who don’t give a rats arse about CFB are gonna sky scream over unpaid athletes risking COVID for the profit of the big bad universities

Sure you could argue that the players are doing it willingly but that would be making a logical argument

If they can find a way to keep the political “health experts” out of it then absolutely.

If they are allowed to continue to ruin everything then I’m starting to have serious doubts

The NBA is putting their players in a bubble. Of course that bubble apparently includes access to Disney resort perks and special access to the parks so they aren’t completely bubbled. College athletes could definitely be “bubbled” to an extent.

To clarify I am talking he about the money-making D1 a athletes being bubbled, not the little guys.

It will be interesting to see what happens if and when a player or players test positive as to how it will be handled as far as the team(s)go.

Yeah, the laws of physics are tyrannical

Look, I get that the fundamentals of communicable disease aren't nearly as well understood as physics, but what the hell do you mean by "scientific dictatorship"?

Simple.

If all men are created equal, then my opinion on epidemiology must be just as valid as the opinion of the CDC's chief expert on infectious diseases. Checkmate, you lie-beral dim.

Jokes aside, I'd bet the farm on a full season with fans, pretty much regardless of the public health consequences. The SEC universities and the college towns are so dependent on revenue generated by the games that nothing is going to be called off unless the effects on public health are absolutely disastrous.

I was very optimistic up until last night watching “Out Front” and hearing what Dr Fauci said. I wanted to reach through the TV screen and choke that bastard. It’s a pipe dream at this point to expect an entire, pure, uninterrupted ncaa football season.

The most effective way to prevent spread of a communicable disease obviously is isolation and quarantine.
But equally obvious, and not being discussed, is the fact that you still need basic services- food, water, electricity. Otherwise, your health comes into risk for things other than the initial disease.
Add to that, basic human luxuries and indulgences come into play- entertainment, shopping, some form of social interaction. Otherwise you become a mindless lab rat in a cubicle, and your mental health is destroyed.

Every required and optional thing in society requires humans to be involved and provide it- robots don't grow, process and deliver food, medicine and parcels. People do.

At some point, you have to look at the overall picture and determine, is the treatment worse than the condition?

This mandatory lockdown- you have utilities, hospitals, supermarkets, delivery drivers, walmarts, fast food places etc open. As far as I can gather, these people working there did not all get sick and die. It appears going outside and resuming a normal life is not going to cause that, either.
