Tennessee has been a state since 1794. The same year our school was founded.
You know, like 42 years before the Alamo.

Seems like this is about the twentieth thread on this topic in the last several months.
I guess it is going to come around as often as 1939 and Dildo threads do.
Oh well.

Neither one of those compared to 1980

A hornsdown emoji would be a reasonable compromise to clear up any future confusion.

Pretty easy, Texas is t.u. and 10rc is UTk.

UT will always be Tennessee in this conference.

Both? Both states start with 'T". It just is what it is. And nothing anyone says is going to stop people in Texas from calling Texas "UT" or people in Tennessee from calling their school "UT" because that's how it's always been.
Just as an observation though, the Tennessee fans seem to care about this a lot more than Texas fans do.

This was fair until the last sentence.
Ive seen several similar threads started lately with none of them being started by a Vol fan.
It also appears that there is just as many, if not more, Texas fans than Tennessee fans replying in this thread.

I don't care myself. "Texas" is more than acceptable. It's true enough if you're in the southeast, "UT" probably will get people to think you mean Tennessee. It's also true in the southwest, people will think of Texas.
Much ado about nothing.

The school that has the hotel where the conference was founded or the school responsible for helping the other exist. Your pick.
