He is NOT from Knoxville, he is from Mississippi and spent time in Knoxville. His family is currently located in the Woodlands north of Houston, so his family no longer has any ties to the Knoxville area.
From his A&M bio he was living in Mississippi as recent 2019, which means he only had, at most, 2 years in Tennessee. Hardly makes him a Tennessee guy that has any pride for the locale.

This has nothing to do with the fact that Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and LSU all not only have better recruiting staff's than Tennessee, but also better recruiting grounds period.
Tennessee is already playing from behind in its own backyard to 2 of those teams.
Tennessee is having a great season, absolutely, but this is less like 2018 Georgia and more like 2014 Mississippi State. Tennessee isn't on the cusp of being a yearly SEC contender; you've got a veteran team with a great offensive-minded coach.

Honeslty, I'm not sure anyone. I like players that have heart. I'm not sure any of A&M's meet that qualification.
