Save the history. A&M and Mizzou were not in the SEC. So starting last year and projecting lets say 10 years.

Who is YOUR top 6 for next ten years?

Basically like a pre season top 25 but for YOUR guess at top 6 in SEC.

Some might consider it a homer vote, but I also put LSU up at the top. I anticipate a really good signing class this season for the Tigers, and expect them to pass Alabama (who eventually will drop a peg or two)for a couple seasons. I also think Auburn will dip into the Tide's recruiting pool some, and bring them down/Auburn up.

LSU
Alabama
Auburn
A&M
South Carolina
Florida

Who knows, so much can change in such a short period of time in college football. It's silly to predict.

Only one thing is really certain - as long as Saban is the HC at Alabama:

1. Alabama
2-14. ?

Same as always. Aggies take a step back w/o manziel to be back on par with mizz and the rest of the lower tier.

What that is...that's the teams that recruit the best in the SEC. Because of tradition, and because of their recruiting areas, these are consistently the best teams in the SEC. You must have a quality staff to go along with recruiting. Auburn, under Coach Chiz, proved that you can have one, but that doesn't mean a thing without the other. A&M is the only team that I think has a chance to pull the classes, on a consistent ten year basis, to compete with those Big 5. That doesn't mean any of those teams won't have down years, each will. But on a ten year basis, those teams will rise to the top more often than not. It has been that way for the last 50 years, and it just isn't going to change.

LOL, bring in new blood, watch the traditionalists cling to whatever they can to keep the old ways going.

I want to know what Bama does without a QB named McCarron.

I want to know what UGA does with no Murray.

Florida doesn't really have a QB at the moment.

USC is good with Shaw, not so good without him, plus you lose Clowney, will you tumble back to being mediocre?

A&M with no Manziel? LOL

LSU loses Mettenberger....

Mizzou loses Franklin(seen a little of Mauk)...

Auburn, who is their QB again?

I think there's a lot more intrigue to the future then most of you are letting on, next year you are going to see a lot of inexperienced QB's running around the SEC, should be fun.

The SEC has changed A&M fellas. I will probably get flamed for bragging about our backup qb but he looked good last Saturday. I know it was against an inferior opponent but the touch was nice. i think we will take a small step back in offense but defense will be much improved. I will admit that its to early to put us up there with LSU&Bama even though we are gonna beat LSU this year. Mark my words though, we will be fighting with the top tier teams throughout for that Natty

Texas A&M hasn't beaten a ranked team this year. Why do people think they're so good? You were getting blown out by Bama before a 4th quarter prevent D come back, you lost to Auburn at home, and you've beaten who exactly?

You've let just about everyone from RICE to ARKANSAS score 30+ points against you.

Prediction: A&M loses to LSU and Mizzou.

1) 'Bama (Saban)
2) LSU (don't have a great reason here)
3) UGA (always the bridesmaid, never the bride)

After that it gets a little harry:

aTm: Was a nobody for the last 10 years in the Big XII, then get's JFF and Sumlin. We'll see going forward.

Mizzou: Has been one of the more consistent programs nationally the last 10 years, but never able to get over the proverbial hump. Also, HCGP is getting old. He might retire within 10 years, what does Mizzou do then?

SCAR: Similar to Mizzou. Spurrier might retire within 10 years. What happens then?

Florida: Who here really believe Muschump will get it done at Florida?

Auburn: Again, very similar to SCAR and Mizzou, except they topped out at a better record than those two programs the last 10 years. Does buying a Nat'l Champ make you a top six program? Perhaps.

What about Tennessee and Ole Miss recruiting so well?

I guess feet to the fire, I would round out the top 6 with...

4) Auburn
5) Florida (I'll go out on a limb and say that the Muschump gets canned and they get a coach who turns it around)
6) Missouri (obligatory homer pick, but they have as good a resume as the other contenders in the last 10 years)

Currently ranked? No. But neither has Mizzou by that metric.

Alabama has a few more years of Saban and it's hard to believe that whoever gets hired next won't be able to maintain the steamroller. It won't be Saban-level, but they'll still be elite.

LSU probably has at least 5, maybe a full 10, years of Miles. This program is a monster and it's not going anywhere.

Florida, Georgia, Texas A&M, and Auburn rounded out my top 6 earlier because they're all in fertile recruiting grounds. The coaching may change for the first three in the next 10 years, but it can really only go up, IMO. Muschamp is probably out in a year or two and UF will get a winner again, Georgia will be good under Richt, and A&M and Auburn both have bright prospects with young, fresh coaches.

Missouri and South Carolina will stay good while Pinkel and Spurrier are there, but will probably fade back to .500-level play once they retire or leave. Tennessee can compete for the East, I believe in Butch Jones -- but they need a little while before they get there. Ole Miss... who can say? They've looked good and getting better under Freeze, but where's the ceiling for them? Hard to tell right now. They can't be ignored.

I don't think Arkansas has it. Bielema isn't a bad coach, but it's just going to be hard to beat Alabama and LSU at their own game year in and year out. State has reached its ceiling and looks to be on the decline. Vanderbilt probably peaked last year and will resume cellar dwelling once James Franklin gets snatched up somewhere else. Kentucky might fill the void and occasionally make some bowl games under Mark Stoops, but their ceiling is also in the 8-5 range IMO.
