Recruiting matters, and LSU is top 5 in the country in recruited talent. The fact that we just got tossed around like a sack of shite by fricking UCLA means a complete and utter failure at the coaching level. If Orgeron is the coach after this year we are in trouble

LSU isn't firing him at 8-4. 7-5 I could see though

Beside UCLA might be much better than many believe.
Yeah… just like Troy, Wisconsin, Miss State, Missouri, all were “really good so getting beat like a stray cut doesn’t count.”
Or maybe it was Covid and the season is an * and doesn’t count.
And the hurricane messed things up..
And the PAC12 office in San Francisco..
And the cheating officials…
And it was a long trip and the other team wore sissy colors…
Anyway you look at it, it doesn’t count…

I'm just enjoying how all the LSU folks were losing their minds over A&M giving Jimbo $9 million while they are doing the same for Ed O because of 2019. The answer is always having the right coach and if you have them pay them whatever you need to. LSU needs to be careful, the wheels can come off in a hurry and it can be really hard to get back up. Ask Tennessee or Nebraska.

I sure wasnt expecting chip to run 4 straight counter plays and no answer to stop it.
pathetic

I won’t argue a failure at the coaching level that is obvious. I will argue that your oline recruiting has been lacking severely for some time.

I expected us to win a game vs. a mid PAC 12 team. Guess that’s asking for too much nowadays. Dark times ahead.

Didn't really know what to expect although I did have some hope that the team had improved at least marginally.
I've been telling y'all all off season how bad y'all are. If you really want help getting rid of Coach O, we can help. Daddy Aggy will be gentle. Don't worry. But the next coach won't fair much better against Jimbo.

Orgeron won a championship jimbo has won nothing at tamu
ETA I do appreciate that for every dumb decision we make we can expect Aggie to go top it

Either of those happen Ed is gone. Not sure how you feel about that
I don’t really care if Ed stays or goes. If I had to choose I would hope he goes just because the coaching changes board would be lit.

In my impartial opinion I think it’s best to keep Coach O around. It’s highly entertaining around here as is though a search would be interesting,

I posted a 7-5 prediction on the rant a few weeks back. I think most rational fans were very skeptical of this season.

I thought we would be more physical in the trenches. I was worried about our O line before the game and now my fears are true. Im disappointed our defense didn’t play better or more physical.

O doesn't make $9 million a year, its between $6 and $7 million and he won a championship at LSU, unlike Jimbo at A&M.

Third, maybe fourth in the SEC West. Beat someone who is not expecting it. Bowl eligible. That is about it.
With the talent available this team should not be in this bad of shape. But it is.

They’re delusional and think they can win games on talent alone

those coordinators should grow into it
Guys who have never been coordinators don't just grow into it the first year.
I was gonna say that Orgeron should have hired coaches who had actually coordinated offense and defense, but he did try to hire experienced defensive coordinators but that failed. Even Orgeron admitted the guy he hired was like the 4th choice (very stupid to publicly say it but that's Orgeron for you). The offensive coordinator worked with Joe Brady, so naturally, hiring that guy is going to bring back the 2019 offense. Never mind that some LSU posters on this board have declared that Ensinger was the OC and called most of the plays that year. Then they ...encouraged him... to leave. Rigghhttt.
So LSU will probably go 8-4 or so. Exclude the best and worst years and that's about par for him. No huge surprises.

I expected our coaches to have the more talented team ready to play and at least put them in position to compete. I never expected UCLA to dominate both lines of scrimmage the way that they did. I was prepared for a loss. I wasn't prepared for the way that we lost.
