Yes, he said Bama is locked in ahead of Miami, SC and the Sip. But if SMU loses a close game to Clemson it’s a coin flip between Bama and SMU.

I wouldn't trust anything the committee says about championship week. I would win to make sure that team can't get fricked

No it’s not. SMU losing creates a similar resume to Miami. They have no wins over any good teams.

Be real and tell me who is winning that "coin flip"

If Texas loses for the second time to UGA, they should be dropped from the bracket. Bama should take their spot. If Texas wins their rematch against UGA, they are guaranteed a spot based on the rules, but they said they won't punish a team for playing a CCG. That would mean UGA gets Bama's spot. Bama should be cheering for UGA over Texas. That's their clearest path to the playoffs.

Some of you don’t seem to understand how this works.

Big 12 is the 12 seed no matter what. SMU and Boise are ahead of Bama

The committee has said they want to avoid punishing CCG losers. If UNLV beats Boise St by 1 score, they arent going to send Boise St out of the playoffs. SMU has a bit more wiggle room than Boise St since they are a few spots up. Clemson beating SMU almost assuredly sends Bama out

My goodness you’re an idiot. It’s hard to be more wrong than what you are.

To be fair, they should, but they wont. Texas would probably drop down to the 6 seed at worst

Not at all. SMU's schedule is weak. No top 10 wins and only two top 25 wins.

Correct.

Boise or UNLV are in. Not both.
Same with Big 12. Either Iowa State or Arizona State advance.
SMU is the only team that might advance with a loss in the CCG.
I would be extremely shocked if Boise advanced with a loss, even a close one.
It's not even a gimme that SMU advances with a loss but I think they'll get more latitude than a MWC team currently two spots lower than SMU is.

This. It comes down to SMU and Ckemson.

SMU wins and Bama is in. SMU gets embarrassed, and Bama is in. SMU loses close, and there is a debate over losses, wins, and schedules to see how far SMU drops.

The committee just wants the Bama viewers and money and not the top 12 teams. Bama is a lock. Bama hasn't played like a championship team all year and they have them 11 with losses to 2 of the worst teams in the nation and one was a blowout.

Anyone who thinks 10 Boise doesn’t drop with a loss behind Bama crazy.

Bama is in. Miami at 12 and Clemson at 16 is the committee telling you they do not respect the ACC and are only letting one of them in.

The committee has been ranking Boise St high the past few weeks. If they wanted to eject them from the playoffs with a CCG loss they would have kept them closer to where the top Big 12 teams are ranked

If they lose a close game they wont get kicked out. How do you justify knocking a team out of the playoffs for having to play an extra game? UNLV is also ranked higher than 2 of the teams the gumps lost to

You can try and convince yourself it’s clear SMU won’t get in if they lose a close one to Clemson. But you’re simply wrong. It would only be SMU’s second loss and it came in a Conference Championship game while Bama was sitting at home. It will be a very close decision.

Boise doesn’t matter. Group of 5 gets a guaranteed bid. SMU is the one who has to win or go home
