Keeping the 8 game schedule is stupid with 16 teams.
They will go to 9 eventually so teams can have their 2 big permanent rivals.
I wonder if SEC teams could schedule their rival in an OOC game in the years said rival isn’t in the conference rotation

What?? From what I understand; Texas and OU didn’t have votes , but expressed the preferred 9 Conf games. Maybe look east of Texas, if your worries about your rivalries.

I didnt say OU got manhandled everytime. But they did get the reps. Texas only qt home against bama and lsu. We will see when they travel. I'm not counting that were back sugar bowl. Uga didnt even show up

Texas has played Bama and will again this year, plus LSU, plus Georgia as you mentioned, plus Arkansas.
Both teams have recent SEC experience. Both are middle tier right now, possibly lower tier for Oklahoma. Both are building and rebuilding. Should be good to go by next year.

Agreed. It’s insanely stupid. There is no reason to try and cram all 15 opponents in to a two year stretch. There is no reason to only have one permanent rivalry. Should be 4.
But I blame Sankey’s lack of vision.
Ask yourself. Would Slive ever think of ending the DSOR or the TSIO? It wouldn’t even be brought up as a possibility. No. And that’s why Slive was the goat and Sankey is chasing the B1G.
