Been trolled twice, got two trophies, have zero fricks given.

Again - why would either LSU or Bama play hard if the loser gets in the CFP? the reward for winning is playing an extra game against a difficult opponent - does that really make sense to you?

I suppose this might make sense if you play in a shitty conference whose championship doesn't command any respect.

Nope. They shouldn’t get in over a conference champ with the same number of losses. Winning your conference should mean something.

And the thread was talking about excuses getting made for the loser. I’m saying it will only be made if that loser is Alabama

I agree with the first portion... conference championship should always matter.

I love laughing at that last part. I even hear frickin sports RADIO hosts here in Jacksonville playin up the jort wearers saying it only happens if you're named Alabama.

I tried to call in and tell them the tears were delicious and all the crying wouldn't change the TWO TROPHIES in Tuscaloosa!!

If true, why bother playing hard in the game since both make the CFB yet the loser gets to sit on the couch and watch the winner have to play an extra game in the SEC championship game?

The genius of Bama pulling an ole on Auburn in 2017.

Bama got an extra week of rest before the CFP.

Winning all your regular season games is not important. You only to win enough and pass the eye test.

I actually wish this was the case, but we all know when LSU wins, excuses will be made to get bama in the playoff

If Oregon, Ohio State, Clemson, and LSU win out and then Alabama wins out after losing a close game to LSU the 4th playoff spot will come down to Alabama and Oregon.

Oregon will have lost to Auburn at a neutral site while Alabama will have beaten Auburn on the road. Alabama will have beaten a either a near Top 10 or Top 18 (depending on their game with Georgia) on the road.

Alabama will have beaten Auburn on the road with their only loss coming to the #1 ranked team. Oregon will have beaten a Top 10 Utah team and no one else of particular note. It will be close but it's not a stretch at all to suggest Alabama would deserve the final spot in that scenario.

Same scenario for LSU if they lose in 2 weeks except I think they easily get in with their quality wins over any other 1 loss team.

Even in your scenario where an undefeated west champion beats an undefeated east champion in Atlanta, that does not assure our conference gets two teams in. Alabama has to beat the only top ten team we play at home to get a spot. I firmly believe that. If Bama loses to LSU at home, the enemies will pound that point home. All the “they didn’t even win their division” rhetoric would prevail this time.

[quote]It is possible a no loss Clemson would still miss the playoffs. That is absurd man. An undefeated Clemson is obviously in.

If Clemson gets in this year undefeated, it's because of the past 3 years, and not what they did this year.

As I said, they have beaten NOBODY. Clemson has beaten only 2 teams with a winning records. That's Charmin soft.

I’m not sure what straw man justification you SEC fans are going to conjure up next year to explain away Clemson when we win the NC again this year

Louisville, Wake, and the ACC Coastal champion will all have a better record than 7-5. So that's false.

LSU's resume banks on the fact that Florida and Auburn are as good as advertised. In years past we've seen these highly ranked SEC teams suffer some pretty bad losses in bowl games and the ACC has been spanking that arse on the reg on rivalry weekend.

The Texas win propelled you into the national title discussion and they've proven to be highly overrated.

7-5 TAM beats all the teams you just listed. It’s ok to admit that Clemsons schedule sucks. We all know it does.

Team rankings actually has Clemson's schedule ranked 29th out of 130 teams one spot ahead of Georgia.

It's nowhere near as bad as you make it out and what's hilarious is you're the only team left on our schedule with a losing record so thanks for bringing it down.

Of course. The SEC would win all these hypothetical matchups, but somehow you have a losing record to the ACC head to head in the CFP era.

Just FYI Texas A&M lost to Wake the last time they played them.

You SEC crowd can’t really believe this BS? Bama has two NC without winning your “Championship.”

Clemson don’t care about conference championships because only national championships matter. Get over yourselves.
