God, this board sucks right now.
Even with yesterday's sticky thread about it sucking.

I am not really trying to brag because my bench max is lower than half of my friends that I lift with, I'm just saying 180 is a weight my good friend in engineering who never touched a weight in his life could get after like six months.

Maybe A&M dosent allow there QBs to go heavy on the bench. Or it could be his three rep max, which would put his 1RM at over 200. You normally don't see guys squatting 400+ and benching less than 200.
If a guy has never worked but has done some sort of physical labor and has developed some sort of strength he could be at 180 lbs on the bench within six months. Now If it is a guy who has never worked out and never done any physical labor to develop some kind of strength. It would depend on his genetics and his program to reach 180lbs.

So its not a typo? Shockingly no one has discredited Allens puny bench.

yup, Hell probably in about a 3-4 month routine in a good workout should be able to get to a 180 max, if you are trying.
I have done my time active army, now just a reservist where i spend 1 weekend a month keeping kids in shape.
In BCT, 9 weeks of hell we turn wimpy pathetic creatures into machines that are required to do at least 60 push-ups in 2 mins as a male(avg for all age groups). most leave benching 100 to 200% of their body weight. with 6 months of a 1/4 of what we did in a week would produce similar results... you aggies are just too lazy to get out and try

If it's a three rep max it's a little better, but that's just wild if he is literally that weak on bench and able to squat four plates. Must love him some leg day

Don't take this personally, but I'm going to trust Coach Sumlin on this one.
Not that you're not a stellar talent evaluator yourself.

Read all the books and articles you want. I saw with my own eyes a 150 pound male struggle to bench press a 45 pound bar and could do a pullup.
no Heart! didnt want it enough... aggies are soft... im starting to believe the rumors

Manziels bench was 210... we didnt have any complaints about him either.
Why does everyone want us to have a problem with our QB?
Same shite last year with the autogrpahs the rant was PISSED we werent mad about Johnny signing stuff for money.

This whole thread is dumb. QBs bench pressing an insane amount of weight != a good qb. If you wanna lift a lot of weight, go be a body builder or an 18-24 year old kid without responsibilities BUT to hit the gym.

Because for throwing athletes bench does nothing and squat and leg strength is everything. You power with your legs. It's the same for pitchers. But I'm guessing that's been posted numerous times already so I'll bow out and let the shitshow continue

Boy can slang the football. That is all that matters. Y'all making fun of the #1 rated QB recruit in the nation is insane.

Geez, lighten up francis
Ive said in this thread it must be a mistake or something. There is no way his bench is only 180, present day
