Lower body and core is definitely more important in terms of football. But that upper body must has some muscle mass developed in order to take a lick from a 275lb DE.
Must kids develop quickly in a college program. With the neutrituion and training they recieve, they usually make great strides. Hell for me it was the first and only time in my life I had 3 full meals a day.

I went to Alabama football camp in high school. While touring the weight room someone asked the strength coach "how much does Brodie bench?" His reply "I would probably loose my job of I tried to see how much Brodie could bench."

I work there for the USAF (ETA: like you surmised
). Live in the next town over (Warrensburg). At least Kansas City isn't too far away
