Beating this 2nd rate has been Kentucky team isn’t impressive in the least, but I think they are in.

It’s gonna be tough for vandy today. A&M has played one game, they’ve played 2. This will be their 3rd game in 3 straight days

"which team is more capable of big upsets and a deep run" and it's clearly Vanderbilt

You would think so based on play since the beginning of February, but the NCAA tournament is a whole nother cat. Look at teams like LSU 1987, or Dayton in 1984, or Georgia in 1983--three teams that embarked on long tournament runs, that at first blush made you wonder why they made the tourney at all based on regular season play. And there have been many teams that were red-hot players the last two months of the regular season, that were one-and-done in the NCAA tourney.

I have a feeling vandy gonna get screwed like Aggies did last year

I think they deserve it more than auburn or state

Vandy gonna be kicking themselves for that lsu loss

I hate the net rankings
The eyeball test should be the real indicator

I think they need a win today.

The computers are not their friends.

And Arkansas, for that matter. No reason the pigs are on such a lofty pedestal. Explain why they're everywhere a lock with a 20-13 overall record, 8-10 conference record, early SEC tourney exit, and an ugly loss to LSU?

If I were on the selection committee Arky would be one of the first four out. And yes the pigs lost to Vandy, and Missouri. Thin resume IMHO.

Fixed it for you.

copied and pasted from twitter:

Vanderbilt beats UK by 7 last night for their 5th Quad 1 win and only moves up 3 spots to 79 in the NET.

Meanwhile, Iona beats Niagara (NET 247) by 12 and moves up 3 from 62 to 59.

Vandy has 10 Quad 1/2 wins and is 79th. Iona has 0 Q 1/2 wins and is 59th.

The NET is broken.

Vandy should go in before Arky.

Makes absolutely no sense. They need to just use KenPom if it’s gonna be that buggy

I think if Vandy wins today they are in. If they lose bad they are out. If they lose a close, exciting game they have a slim chance depending on what happens elsewhere.

The big selling point is how well they have played in the final 12 games.

The big pain point is the low computer rankings, which are admittedly inexplicable. Even Grambling, the biggest smudge on their resume, is probably going to win 25 games and make the tournament. At least everyone is acknowledging they are a bubble team today. That hasn't been the case for the past month.

Honestly I have no problem with Vandy being in and us being out. IMO they have earned a bid.

The NET is terrible. Relies too much on efficiency stats which can be manipulated by beating a lot of shite teams. I hope the committee sees that.

SOS and quality wins plus lack of bad losses should be the heaviest factors.

Arkansas 20-13 - NET of 22. 4-10 in Q1, 4-2 Q2, 10-1 Q3 2-0 Q4. Lost head to head to Vandy and State. NCAA lock

State 21-12 NET 49 4-8 Q1 4-3 Q2 5-1 Q3 8-0 Q4 projected 11 seed

Vandy 20-13 NET 79 5-9 Q1 5-1 Q2 5-2Q3 5-1 Q4 First four out

I’m sorry but that’s a broken system. You’re rewarded by beating shite teams and punished for a tough schedule and one bad loss counts way too much against you even if you have 5 quality wins.

Vandy should be a lock at a 9-10 seed. MSU 10-11 seed with no play in game. Arkansas should be in the play in game

I think those conferences need to be moved to NAIA. The shite conferences with AQ seeds that never produce any at large teams need to go away and put more bubble teams in that can actually compete. Those 16 seeds never do shite

100%. Mizzou has now beaten Tennessee twice this season, one time in Knoxville. Tenn dropped to a net 4 from 3. Mizzou raised from a NET 48 to a NET 42. How in the world does that add up?

Getting so deep in the weeds in stats to determine who should be in only to be left out in the past only made me start to lose interest in the game. I don’t do it anymore. Just schedule and win some tough non conference games, win at home and pick up a few solid games on the road and the rest will take care of itself. In the end politics, name recognition, and $ play too much of a role and last 10 games play too little of a role.

You lay out those stats and claim Vandy has played the tough schedule?

D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y!!! Arkansas is by far the most overated team in America, and Vandy the most disrespected.

You must not pay attention to any Big 10 games. I'll be surprised if more than 1 team from that conference makes it to the second weekend
