You’ve had a couple bubble busters in some of the smaller conferences as well.

Did the tourney committee suddenly decide that conference tourney games matter again (other than the auto bid)?

I thought they stopped caring years ago.

Seems to be a mixed bag and varies year to year. They released their process a few days ago that seemed to imply the Wednesday - Friday games matter but not Saturday and Sunday

Maybe an Auburn team that won 4 of the last 13 deserves a ticket

ah, I missed that.

Guess now that Will Wade is gone suddenly conference tourney games count towards your seeding again.

Well, LSU showed the committee this year dammit.

The “Committee” pretty much does what they want, but you are kidding if you think they don’t look at balancing regions for tv viewers and ticket sales. Remember this is the NCAA cash cow. If Vandy gets in then a SEC team is gonna miss out and it is Auburn.

Buddy, auburn isn’t even the most bubbly SEC team. That would be Miss St. so even with your working theory you’re wrong

Miss St is clearly out, that leaves AU and Vandy as the last one in. I’m gonna bet Vandy is in over AU. Plus don’t get me started on the BIG 10 tourney, what if Penn St or OH St win the automatic bid?

Vandy's resume/trajectory/story seems nearly identical to ours last year. The shite about the committee not considering the last two rounds or so of the tourney is absurd but seems to be true

Not quite. A&M, in spite of its late-season success last year, had that horrendous stretch of 8 straight losses right smack dab in the middle of the season. That was just an immediate disqualifier in the eyes of the selection committee. You really were put into the position of having to win the conference tourney to get in, where you fell short.

Vandy lost what, 8 of 10? They are very much in this same position FYI

They should be in over MSU. Both teams should be in though. Vandy is a more impressive team than MSU.

I feel really scared for Vandy- have a feeling they are going to get Aggied by the Committee. They're a damn good team, hottest team around, fun to watch.... so let's make them first team out because, uh, well, because... uh just because.

Vandy coach was named SEC coach of the year. Over two team from the Big 12. Vandy is one of the founding fathers in the SEC. That must be why Vandy coach got it. Makes a lot of sense. Don't you agree with that statement?
