So I got into an argument about JUCOs this morning.

With DJ Daniel deciding between UGA and SC today, which its almost guaranteed he picks UGA, my UGA friend said "meh I'm never too high on JUCO's you guys can have them."
Then we started arguing about who the best JUCO players were for our teams. I'm curious, what are the best one's from yall's team's history? Were there any star players that emerged from JUCO that elevated your team heavily?

I'd say Tarrance Cody did pretty well.
A bunch of JUCOs is probably a bad idea, but supplementing on occasion can be invaluable.

Robert Ferguson GOAT. But more recently Josh Reynolds

I think they've been necessary in our rebuild from the mess Spurrier left us with. Its gotten us off our feet. But now I think we don't particularly need them as much. Javon Kinlaw is going to be one to watch though. Hes a monster.

Cam and Marshall had a little bit of an impact for us. Nick Fairley was pretty good too.
Edit: And Stidham, although he never played at that JUCO.

Chad Kelly comes to mind right away as does Bo Wallace

The first that comes to mind is safety Justin Evans. He became a 2nd round draft pick.

UGA's best WR last year was a JUCO (Javon Wims). John Jenkins was a big piece of the 2012 team.

Soem notable JUCO players in the past:
Josh Heupel
Aaron Rodgers
Warren moon
Larry Allen (NFL HOF)
LeGarrette Blount
Jason Pierre-Paul
Levonte David
OJ Simpson
Mike Rozier
Keshawn Johnson
Seneca Wallace
Terrance Cody
Frank Gifford
Corey Dillon
Chad Kelly
Alvin Kamara
Cam Newton
JUCO players turned stars
There have been a ton of good players that were JUCO transfers for one reason or other.
Typically they bring you an experienced player to provide depth, but can work into being a star player.

Darius Slay and Montez Sweat are the big recent ones that come to mind.

Markus Golden, Sheldon Richardson, Marcel Frazier, and our current starting DT Walter Palmore were all Juco guys.
They are good to balance out a class and to bring immediate help. They should be ready to contribute right away.

Leonard Floyd was pretty good. Spent a year at Hargrave Military Academy.
I think he did ok for Georgia.

It's tough to build a program on them. I have seen more fail than succeed at Auburn through the years, but the right guy in the right spot on a team can be huge. I view Grad Transfers to be similar since that rule came down.
Cam Newton and Nick Fairley IMO are our 2 most important followed closely by Nick Marshall.
Grad Transfer for Auburn this year at RT could be the difference between 8-9 wins and 10-12 wins or more...If he shows he belongs at this level I suspect our average OL play to go from good to great. If not, problems that plagued last years 4 loss team will rear their head again this year. Except we play a tougher schedule.
