Gonzaga is a horrible first round matchup. They're #9 in Pomeroy.

If Bama is healthy, I have them beating Duke and making it to the final 4

I don't know. I get Duke is good, but man, they have had little to no competition for 3 months. They certainly won't be ready for a physical SEC team.

If Flagg is still out Duke is very beatable. UNC of all teams almost pulled it off.

Nvm. They expect him back

I would like our odds better if we hadn't lost Wrightsell at the beginning of the year; don't think we get that far without Nelson. It will be a battle regardless though; Duke is good. My hope is that because of that soft ACC schedule they're not quite prepared for a team that can run up and down the court with them; OTOH, Alabama is used to playing teams at the same talent level.

If we can get by Kansas...likely done against St. Johns. I have St. Johns winning it all in my bracket.

Bamas experience vs Dukes freshman is what I think helps them.

Also think Dukes defensive numbers are VERY inflated.

With Nelson out for us, our future looks bad tbh. He’s a versatile big man that can shoot three and dunk when needed. He’s a huge motivator as well, and I hate that he may be put completely for the dance.

Feeling about as good as you can.

But in single elim all it takes is a cold shooting night and a hot opponent for anyone to go down.

Hopefully our offensive rebounding can mitigate any potential cold shooting games.

Flagg probably could have been back in the last two conference tournament games. But Duke (justifiably) kept him out because the NCAA tournament is about an order of magnitude more important that the ACC tournament is.

Yea, a win over Gonzaga would be more than I could have hoped for at the beginning of the season.
The loss to OU in the first round for the SECC was disappointing but the team played well down the stretch in the regular season so I can see them upsetting Gonzaga.

Only thing I’m hesitant about is A&M having our number. But we also didn’t have our best defender in Denver Jones when we played them.

I just saw that Travis Perry got hurt as well. One more guard down. Hopefully Butler is healthy enough to play a lot of minutes

Surprised UK is a 3 seed especially considering the injuries.

If Nelson is 90% I feel good about a run to the Elite 8

The fact that he is going to see James Andres today in Birmingham is not a good sign at all. He’s out for a couple of weeks guaranteed.
