I hope we will. We need an excellent recruiting personality or we will be fricked though. I think that should be our top priority. With defensive mind and running the ball strategy as our 2nd.

They would have to be a great recruiter. As crappy as the Arkansas high school talent is, at least there are a handfull of good skill players. This state produces shite at the high school level on the defensive side of the ball.
start putting on defensive clinics. Make the defensive coaches in highschool better. Maybe they get a couple athletes on that side of the ball instead of offense. U of A can influence this greatly if they want to.

I find it strange that Kragthorpe and Idaho both had player issues after Petrino left and both went to cellar. I am thinking this year possibly could've happened even with Bobby still at the helm. It reminds me of when Hatfield left and Crowes first year.

I know the difference between bad football and good football. That will make the difference. Right now they more talented than us at every position. when we are at full strength they out talent us at 19 of 22 starting positions.

I'd feel worse if y'all weren't Arky, but I still feel kinda bad for you guys. This is gonna hurt y'all for a few years, longer if y'all can't get a good enough coach to come in.
Good luck.
I almost felt you were talking to Auburn fans while reading your post.

there is no contingency plan for life after petrino. His players are thugs and more roll players instead of great athletes.

It's funny some Auburn fans want him, but he doesn't build a sound program in the likes of Miles and Saban. I do not want, even if he knows offense. I agree with your role vs athletes comment for the most part.

Was Petrino THAT good or were the pieces starting to fall apart before his personal fiasco? I really don't know.
Nah, Petrino was really that good. I think he probably was so personally involved with their offense, that they are completely lost without him.
The talent was definitely there this year for them to make a run... I was convinced they would run the table outside of Bama and LSU, and then basically be in the conversation for a title run, with those two teams coming to Fayetteville.
That said, just like last year I think even with Petrino it would have been a major uphill battle for them to take out LSU and Bama. This is simply due to the fact that LSU and Bama could run the ball and keep it out of their offense's hands, just like last season.

This all ties back to petrino. He builds programs without talent and then fricks everything up and leaves you with jack and shite on either side of the ball.

This is reminiscent of the colts losing manning and the whole team turning to complete shite.
Actually a very good comparison imo. It is obvious who leads that team. I feel bad for Wilson...very talented QB in a shite situation.

Just a personal thought. Why not get a defensive and run oriented coach that will build a program with the mind-set that he wants the Razorback program to be 'top five' twenty years from now when he plans on retiring. Not just a program that is 'immediate gratification' with no promise of endurance for the longevity of that program.
A coach that will work with the coaches in the State of Arkansas to build a great high school football program. A coach that will build a wall around Arkansas and not let the talent rampantly leave the state to other SEC programs.
Next 'cherry pick Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Missouri, Florida and Oklahoma (Stay out of Louisiana) to get talent to fill the gaps from local recruiting.
Get a coach and an ADMIMISTRATION that WANTS to build a program that is structurally sound, a program that emphasizes soundness in all phases of the football program.
