re: So, Fields went 20 of 21 for 330 yds and 3 TD’s, and he’s NOT the QB Kirby wanted?

Can you blame Fields for leaving? He knew he could play rings around Fromm and he also knew he played for a head coach too stupid to see it.

Fromm was an average QB, who rode the coat tails of 2 1st round backs and the best LB in the game in 2017.

WTF are you talking about? In 2018 he finished 3rd nationality in QBR had 30 TD's 6 INT's and 67% completion pct. 173 QBR

Statistically,he's the 2nd best QB in UGA history.

Do ya even watch FB?

This kid is going to win the Heisman.

Watched game and the kid threw short, intermediate, and long pasdses with unerring precision, both passes on the run and pro-pocket. Watched a utube podcast and he said that he has been working all off-season on a 1-1 basis with Ryan Day. Says he has studied and understands his coachs mindset in game situations. He has an incredible cast though on offense as all 11 starters are projected NFL draft picks.

Fields is playing big 10 2 and 3 stars from farmer boy country. When he played Clemson, he looked human. When he played in the SEC, he looked average

What???... He played on a knee brace as big as a wolf trap and still outstated Lawrence with 300 yards passing and 72% passing efficiency. He couldn't hardly run at all due to the injury.

OSU ranks 3rd nationally in the 2020 talent composite from 247 with 92.89 avg. Penn State is the second-highest ranked Big Ten team at 13th with a 90.15 average followed by Michigan at 18th. They're boatracing overmatched teams. Fromm mostly sucked last season, but you have to consider that UGA's scheme and WRs weren't conducive to any QB succeeding last year, this year would be different though

Deshaun Watson and most knowledgeable college football fans would disagree with that ignorant statement.

Nah. And we are just talking college.

Throwing 13 and 17 picks in 15,16 against the ACC and having a lower completion percentage isnt close to the efficiency level of Fields

Not that he was bad obviously.

Watson shredded two of Saban’s best-ever defenses in back to back N.C. games...Fields has yet to play in one with arguably better talent around him. Padding stats against Nebraska and Purdue don’t mean squat.

I'd hardly call throwing only 21 times "padding" stats.

I would argue the exact opposite of this. Kirby did what most, if not all, coaches would have done in 2018.

Yeah be only needs to throw 21 passes bc the other B1G teams are so overmatched.

Also Fromm won his playoff game

Against Oklahoma. In 2OT. Thanks to two backs going for over 300 on that defense.

Osu's defense is not very good this year so chances are he gets to watch us play in the playoffs from Columbus.

Chances are you get smoked again by a team who actually plays offense before you get there.

I think Kirby possibly makes a different decision now. Dabo was ahead of the game choosing Lawrence over Bryant. You have to make the best choice and assume the other is transferring.

It was also some bad luck. It is difficult to bench a qb that took you to overtime of a title game. Also, other than the LSU game in 2018, From did not play a terrible game before Fields was already transferring. Bad timing, bad luck, new rules.

It was a mistake

Playing Fromm wasn’t the mistake though. He took UGA to the natty the year before and carved up bama in the 2018 SECC. A frosh Fields wouldn’t have given UGA a better chance at winning in 2018. If fields wasn’t gonna take the job, he was leaving either way. It blows my mind ppl think a frosh fields would’ve done better than 300+, 3 TD’s, and 0 int’s against bama. The only mistake came after Fields left and that promoting Coley to OC.
