re: So, Fields went 20 of 21 for 330 yds and 3 TD’s, and he’s NOT the QB Kirby wanted?

Kirby tried to placate him with “playing time.” Playing time that consisted of a series of handoffs to RBs or a “safe” RPO. People said it was because he wasn’t ready and couldn’t handle the complexities of the offense. He needed developing....and time. Somehow, he underwent the greatest 8 month metamorphosis of QB development in history and became a superstar at Ohio State during one off season.

My first reaction was to be mad about this, but then I remembered Auburn has lost to Georgia 7 straight seasons. I’d probably throw around names like this too if we went 7 straight years losing to yall

Kirby wanted fields. Kirby wanted Fromm. He didn’t think fields would leave.

Kirby fell in love with Fromm. Love is blind and stupid.

Fromm couldn't get out of Athens soon enough after the dismal 2019 season destroyed his dreams.

It's unfortunate but Kirby still hasn't learned to play his most effective players. Kendall Milton should be featured, not Zamir White.

He chose to leave. Not to hard to understand. Also Fromm won his playoff game and Fields lost his...

Osu's defense is not very good this year so chances are he gets to watch us play in the playoffs from Columbus.

One this is for sure,we would be a juggernaut this year with him.

This kid is going to win the Heisman.

He goes through progressions, handles breakdowns, and places the ball like an NFL vet. I don't remember the last time I saw a college QB place every single ball so perfectly. Plus he did it all with protection problems, inexperienced receivers, and zero run game.

I think TL has a better arm, but Fields is more accurate and better between the ears. It's fricking stomach turning.

That's not all though. Ready for the irony? He's the perfect kid for the offense Kirby wants. Explosive plays while protecting the ball, tough and consistent, understands & plays within the offense, extremely accurate, highly effective playing ball control, plays smart and never gets rattled, zero mistakes.

All that said, it's only one game. However, if this play continues or (God forbid) improves nothing will undermines confidence in Kirby's QB management than watching this kid play - nothing.

The great majority of posters on the GSB board were positive about Fields as a recruit but, like Kirby, they put way to much stock in Fromm.

I think that Fields was sandbagged in Athens to please boosters who idolized Fromm. I also think that Malzahn chose legacy QB Bo Nix to please boosters. Nick Saban would tell boosters to piss off in similar situations.

Fields is playing big 10 2 and 3 stars from farmer boy country. When he played Clemson, he looked human. When he played in the SEC, he looked average

Lol, I’m Not sure LSU secondary would hold him under 70 this year. Your team is trash.

Fields has yet to win a playoff game. Fromm won one. When Fields manages to win one he and Fromm will have one playoff win each.

There is little doubt that Fields is the better QB but outside of the LSU debacle is there a coach in the land who would have replaced Fromm with Fields? No. The LSU game is a whole other matter....and we will never know what may have transpired. It’s easy to say UGA is better but Fields would have played in the same system that Fromm played in.....not what he is playing in and against currently.

QB Stats in 2018 showed that Fields was outperforming Fromm even while Fields was being sandbagged.

Absurd.

So is Kirby sticking with Bennett
to "please boosters?" I can tell if it was left up to "boosters" Daniels would be starting yesterday.

OSU ranks 3rd nationally in the 2020 talent composite from 247 with 92.89 avg. Penn State is the second-highest ranked Big Ten team at 13th with a 90.15 average followed by Michigan at 18th. They're boatracing overmatched teams. Fromm mostly sucked last season, but you have to consider that UGA's scheme and WRs weren't conducive to any QB succeeding last year, this year would be different though

Fromm has more playoff wins by himself than Texas a&m and Justin Fields combined.

He also has more than Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, & Lamar Jackson. #GOAT

Can we stop this please? It was a mistake. Fromm was a good player, but Fields walked on campus the better player. If you're better than the guy in front of you and you can't get a shot even when he's costing your team a game you should leave. That's what happened.

Sucks royally for us.

Nah, biggest mistake was letting Fromm frick up his future by leaving early.

Are you crazy.. most coaches would have replaced him with Fields. Why do you think KS is questioned. It was an obvious no brainer. Fromm was an average QB, who rode the coat tails of 2 1st round backs and the best LB in the game in 2017.

What future. He will never play an NFL down that matters.
