Playoffs are there to determine who is and isn't a fraud.

Agree. ABC would have to pony up a massive amount of money for a 9 game SEC schedule. There would be lots of playoff contenders with 8-4 records.

I agree that SMU is somewhat overrated. However, after their loss to BYU, they made a switch at quarterback and the defense is reportedly pretty good. To me, SMU is more compelling to watch than seeing Texas or Tennessee falter in the playoffs.

SMU could beat most of the SEC teams not named UT, Tenn, Georgia on any given Saturday.

SMU will get destroyed at the line of scrimmage against decent competition.
They lost against #17 BYU and now they play #18 Clemson. I expect Clemson to win.

I don't think any of their performances (including barely beating Duke) are as bad as losing to OU 24-3, or losing to Vandy by any score. Alabama does have more impressive wins than SMU, but they also have far worse losses.

SMU isn’t a fraud . They should win this weekend even with Clemson basically having a home game . They’d beat Miami , Boise state, Arizona st and notre dame without a doubt .
