Riley, Jumbo, Kelly, Belichik.

There are misses on coaches of all backgrounds. Better to miss cheap than miss in BK or Jimbo.

I think Ole MIss this year got a very easy conference schedule and didn't schedule a P4 team and made the most of it. Only schedule that was easier was TAMU. I would have preferred Lanning or Freeman. But I think Lane will do well. Especially if the NIL commitment is real.

I agree but if you keep missing on low ball coaches it diminishes the brand

Ultimately it’s all situational, depends on the coach and the program hiring, their recent history etc

If Florida hired sumrall and he failed it would completely bury the program. But trying for a splash hire and failing for a chsnge would at least give fans some notion that the UAA actually is trying and actually cares about football

Scruffy graduated from LSU.

Hiring Lane for the amount they are discussing is insane.

you are not paying a dime.this is a different college world we live in now. money talks. now they pay players millions of dollars to play college football. it's all insane. this is what schools are paying now and it won't get any better.

$13 million was always the number I didn’t want us to go over. I think getting to that amount will start negatively impacting other sports like basketball. And I like having Chris Beard

With all due respect, should A&M fans be commenting on coaching hires?

Jackie - splash hire, good hire
RC - not a splash hire, good hire
Fran - major splash hire, total failure
Sherman - not a splash hire, solid but ultimate failure
Sumlin - not a splash hire, solid but ultimate failure
Fisher - major splash hire, failure, consequential financial hardship
Elko - not a splash hire, homerun hire.

Indiana screwed everyone paying that much for their coach. That set the dominoes in motion...we will see 3-4 coaches making more than 13 mil very soon.

Until they do well, everyone fires their coaches, and you have to shore up yours. (See Texas A&M)
