Sincere question for Auburn fans

Do you regret firing Malzahn? He was 3-5 against Saban (definitely the best of anyone who has faced him on a regular basis) and had 8 winning seasons in 8 years. Since his firing, Auburn is 0-3 against Bama (and Georgia) and has had 3 straight losing seasons. Obviously, Harsin didn’t work out (and Lane would have been better), but if you could do it again, would you keep Gus?

Even if you could have had three straight winning seasons and maybe beaten Bama once or twice?

Nope...Gus had ran its course at Auburn
Now how his replacement was put in place....makes no sense

To be fair to Auburn fans (which I hate doing), they fired the guy who had the most success against Bama.

Beating Alabama isn’t the goal. No matter how much y’all want it to be our goal.
Firing Malzahn wasn’t the mistake. Hiring Harsin was.

Gus had grown stale and stubborn as hell, he had to go. The purgatory they’ve been in since likely doesn’t make the fans wish Gus was still in his perpetual “getting this thing turned around” mode.

What is the goal? Or, what did Malzahn not accomplish?

It was maddening watching him coach. Sure he’d beat Saban as often as he lost to him. But he couldn’t win on the road. And he had a knack for somehow always beating Alabama right after losing to Waterloo High School. He never tried to adapt once he figured out that folks had caught on to his offense. That and the whirlybird 3 QB rotation during games

No. We just screwed up the hire of his replacement

No.
Worry about your South Dakota highschool coach.

My BIL is a huge Auburn fan. Whenever he even hears the name Gus, he wants to fight everyone in the room lol. I doubt you will find any Auburn fan that regrets he got fired, regardless of his record against Saban.

Souix Falls played in a tough league baw…

My only regret is he wasn’t fired in 2015.
