Yes he can in college. The question is what will happen when the average DB is faster and weighs in at 20 lbs heavier than a college DB?

All depends on where that weight is at. If it's the boobs and butt it's in the right places. Plus 166 ain't bad I've had heavier :)

doesn't he have 2 SEC pass catchers going ahead of him in the draft?

We don't know yet. What we do know is that he has a Heisman and multiple titles that they dont.

remember Chris Johnson from the Titans a few years back crediting his lack of major leg injuries to the fact that hits usually took him off his feet leading to less hits on a weight bearing leg.

I’m gonna need this explained to me because initially it doesn’t make sense.

You can't coach those hands. You either got them or you don't. You can coach weight. In fact, it's actually one of the easier lessons to learn.

Is Devonta the smallest ever Heisman winner?

In the modern era, probably, but Davey O'Brien was 5'7'' and 151lbs.

I have my doubts about that because so many receivers in the same type of build as Smitty have been productive NFL receivers. Maybe y'all don't watch the NFL but the league is full of guys not that far off from Smitty's measurables...most receivers aren't built like Julio or Megatron. In fact, it has kinda become a trope in the NFL to have little WRs and a big pass catching TE like the Pats with Brady in the 2010s.

That's right...poor ol' Saints will just have to live with him opposite Mike Thomas. Hope they can tolerate that!

Devonta Smith is cold I don’t know why retarded LSU fans hate him so much. He smoked us two years in a row. Bama fans should really love him because without him in 2019, LSU blows the doors off for real.

NFL DB’s are 40lbs heavier than him. He’s going to get de-cleated every game.

Even if he gets picked after Chase and fails to live up to the hype at the next level, he will always have his COVID Heisman.

And about 1,000 other accomplishments - including but not limited to a walk off TD catch in overtime to win the national championship, all-time SEC leader in receiving yards and all-time SEC leader in touchdown catches. DeVonta Smith was great before COVID and during COVID.

Anybody hating on DeVonta Smith is just that, a hater. Great kid, great player, great competitor.

I agree. Kid won a Heisman. It was during a messed up season, but he was the best during that messed up season. No doubt about that.

SEC teams have been trying to do that for years. I have my doubts.

People have probably been trying to since his pee wee football days. Wonder what his weight was in high school.
