I will be honest, I was never sold that Gus had what it takes to win a NC. It only took him 1 year to prove me wrong. I understand we might lose but Auburn is good enough to win it all.

still not sold. If it weren't for 3 lucky plays, you are sitting at 8-4...

Auburn only had 1 "lucky" play this year and it was vs UGA. The return vs Alabama was designed and called exactly how it was executed.

I was skeptical, until I saw the hires Gus Malzahn made. He sold me rather quickly.

I don't give a crap about whether you like Auburn or not, it's a simple question.

Was cautiously optimistic. Don't know what category that falls under. Definitely didn't expect this.

I don't understand why so many Auburn fans were skeptical the guy is a good coach. And its good to see wing t principles in college ball.

The missed FGs opportunities by bama was the luck in that game. Those FGs weren't high difficulty kicks. Regardless, It was a fairly dramatic turn around for the program in one year. I think I need to see another year before I say hes a good/great coach.

Bama having a shitty kicker is not luck. That's a personnel problem

I just checked his stats and he was 11/12 with a long of 53 yards this year before that game.

Awww. Keep your head up puddin', things will get better! Nobody can keep the BBVA bowl and Ark apart for too long.

I figured they had nothing to lose by giving him a chance but I did not figure he would be nearly so successful in his first year at Auburn.

Well done

LSU handled them pretty easily.

It's all about matchups...

This LSU fan just isn't all that worried about Auburn unless they shore up their defense a lot.

I like how the haters keep adding the number of lucky plays and losses we would have.

If you want to call going down the field and scoring(MSU) a lucky play then every team that ever won anything was lucky.

Also if you want to call a returner running by the tacklers luck then every return ever was just luck. Plus the Bama game wouldn't have been over even if we didn't return it for the TD.

As for the lucky play against UGA, UGA was just as lucky to get a free TD from the refs on 4th down on the drive before when Auburn stopped AM short of the goal line. Take away both lucky plays and Auburn still wins.

To the OP I wasn't skeptical about Gus but was about the players after last year and figured it would take at least 2 or 3 years to have a real shot at winning the SEC.
