Per Phil Steele:
Tennessee (20 Total) 10 O, 8 D, 2 ST
Auburn (18) 7, 9, 2
Florida (18) 7, 10, 1
Vandy (18) 9, 7, 2
Ole Miss (17) 8, 7, 2
Texas AM (16) 9, 6, 1
Arkansas (15) 7, 6, 2
Georgia (15) 6, 9, 0
LSU (14) 7, 5, 2
South Carolina (14) 7, 6, 1
Alabama (13) 7, 4, 2
Kentucky (13) 6, 6, 1
Miss St (13) 5, 7, 1
Mizzou (13) 5, 6, 2

Everybody claims they have more returning starters than actually listed every year. What's your argument? Dallas Lee started at G for 6+ games and isn't included. Garrison Smith started the SECCG and Outback bowl and played the majority of snaps at DE against GT.

Around the conference, I expect UK to suck again.

How does Mizzou plan on competing?

Bama loses a ton, but if anybody can reload it's them.

I don't take kindly to our 3 conference rivals (UT, UF, and AU) all returning that kind of experience...but Dooley? Muschamp? Chizik is the best coach in the group. You can't create many other combinations of HCs in the conference to get that result.

Out of the SECC contenders, Arkansas has the most returning starters (well tied with UGA), and gets LSU and Bama at home.

Arkansas = BCSNC front-runner.

You left off Tevin Mitchel

Also, at different points last season both Darius Winston and Trey Flowers started and will both start spring with the 1st team most likely.

And previous 2010 starter Knile Davis is coming back!

We had so many injuries and changes throughout the year I'm not really sure what a constitutes a "returning starter" but I'll give ours a shot

On offense I'm guessing our 9 are

RB Christine Michael
WR Ryan Swope
WR Uzoma Nwachukwu
TE Hutson Prioleau
LT Luke Joeckel
LG Brian Thomas (Possibly transferring)
C Patrick Lewis
RG Cedric Ogbuehi
RT Jake Matthews

Defense (6)

DL Spencer Nealy
DL Eddie Brown
LB Steven Jenkins
LB Damontre Moore
LB Jonathan Stewart
LB Sean Porter

We had a wide variety of players start on both sides of the ball, especially defense, due to injuries and ineffectiveness. Also our offense and defense will look completely different next year as far as scheme goes so

I completely forgot about CB. You're right about Flowers as well. So that's really 3 more starters there and I didn't even count Davis so that actually turns out to be 20 "returning starters" for AR.

Our second string offense and defense saw as much time as our first string.

If Arkansas returns 15 starters then I hope this 15 starters are 30+ pts better than last year.

We're the only team in the conference without atleast either a P or K coming back, that worries me. Special teams have hurt in the Richt era at times.

Billy Bennett's struggles of '03 in Baton Rouge?
Andy Bailey taking over for Coutu in '06?
Directional kicking?
Blair Walsh tanking '11?

This is the most talented and deepest team Richt has had in years. If a blocked punt or missed field goal in Columbia or Jax costs us something special, I will be very butt hurt.

I know the amount we return on our two deep is pretty staggering although it doesn't show up as much as just pure returning starters. This matters since we rotate so much at every position.

Ex: Returning Ware, Ford, Hilliard AND Blue at RB. That only shows up as 1 "returning starter" but IMO that's pretty significant.

It's splitting hairs but I count Moseley, McCalleb and Holland as returning starters giving us a total of 21.

You could have counted Moseley or Trotter as a starter last year. Same goes for McCalebb, he was normally announced as the starter before games. Holland started until his injury so not sure why he wasn't listed..
