Will Clark was my favorite baseball player growing up as a kid. I loved him and the Giants. I collected all of his baseball cards and all the stuff kids collect of their baseball heroes.
However, unfortunately, Clark simply doesn't have the numbers or big game performances to merit being in the HOF. He was on the cusp of it then injuries and retiring early because of his son cost him a trip to the HOF. It kills me to say that because I loved him as a player and competitor. But he just didn't get to the statistical numbers to merit it. But he was a great ball player in his time.

unfortunately those dumbass sportswriters don't like pricks and Clark was definitely arrogant
Belle deserves a HOF bid as well that he will never get because of the sportswriters

Prairieville
Grew up in the 80s loved Will Clark and had no idea he lived in Prairieville 10 minutes from me. You have to wonder had Skip been at LsU when Clark and Palmeiro played at State would they have played at LSU.

Yep, Prairieville. He actually lives across the street.

According to Skip Bertman, he recruited Rafael Palmeiro when he was in Miami, and he believed that if he had arrived at LSU one year earlier, he would have recruited Will Clark, as well.

What records does he have?

It’s funny how seemingly insignificant actions can affect history. Skip obviously resurrected college baseball in the sec when he went to LSU and I think the focus on baseball in this conference is a direct result of him prioritizing it at LsU and LdU administration for taking it seriously.

Not tracking the joke but the man looks to have a huge house. But not the...."hey look I'm rich and stupid" type of house. More of a wealthy type... not the rich azzhole type.

Polk not winning a national title when he had Clark and Palmero is insane

It's not really a joke, I know where Will Clark lives and I know where Lolo Jones lives, which is basically on the same street
So if you live across the street from Will Clark like you say, you have a couple of famous Neighbors!

I was a big fan of Will Clark. What MLB records does he hold? 15 years is a relatively short time to play in MLB, especially for a HOF player. It's just not enough time to put up the requisite numbers. To be a shoo in you just about have to have 3,000 hits, or 500 HRs. He was a great combination of power and BA, though, and was a top hitter when he played. He just didn't play enough years.

Can't see it. He doesn't have the stats to justify it.

It's hard to say about Clark. Without looking at his career stats and going strictly by memory, I want to say he is on the cusp of being a no brainer selection but he had a period of several years where he was dogged by injuries which resulted in a few less than stellar seasons. He was solid throughout his career and spectacular in his early years
Longevity hurt him. Only 15 years. He had 284 HRs and 1205 hits in 14 seasons. Just not enough.
