This is somehow related to you being mad they are good at baseball somehow isn’t it?
I don't think so. Its only been a decade that Vandy has been good at baseball. They were good at basketball before that time. Its more about the mission of the institutions. I'll read up.

Besides what others have said, there is one very practical reason why you want a private school in the conference. If the SEC was totally composed of public schools, then it would essentially be an inter-governmental entity, and all its documents would be subject to disclosure under FOIA and similar state laws. However, because the SEC is not purely a collection of state agencies, it is a private entity and its internal documents are not public.

That's a pretty good reason, standing alone, for keeping a private school in the league. If Vandy ever voluntarily left (like Tulane), there would be some serious consideration given to recruiting a private school to take their place for this reason.

Thanks asshat.

We're all about the same generally. Strong in some disciplines, weaker in others. Would you send your kid to AU or UA for engineering? On the other hand for business diciplines or law its probably UA for me. Petroleum engineering type stuff LSU and so on and so on...

Except for Ole Miss high school.

This is a great point.

We're collectively state schools and land grant institutions, and I say that with pride. I don't know the history of why Vandy is in the SEC and a school like Georgia Tech is not. How are these queers in the SEC? Even Arky fits well, and maybe Mizzou. Vandy?

Weren't Tulane, Georgia Tech and Vandy all founding members?

Tulane and Sewanee were also charter members and both private.

Vandy is the only one that toughed it out.

We need the nerds for...reasons.

Indeed. I probably shouldn't have posted. I need to have a better understanding of the (Southern?) conference and history. Lets get all on the same team, Vandy. That's how cheating goes in the SEC. We all generally agree to terms, founding member or not.

Then again we were rude not letting you tell us why they need to be kicked out, are you implying they need to contribute more to the league in athletics based on the money they get to invest in sports annually? Bc I’d say I’d agree with you there, they sitting on money they need to be investing?

We half arse sports and we half arse academics, we suck but have the potential to be good, rich enough that we can always afford the new shiny gear, the classic underachiever case that fits the SEC

Your team overachieves and we got to sit Indian style to hear the same stories of glory like god damn Al Bundy thinking we forgot he scored 4 touchdowns in one game for Polk High
