Context...if someone is posting about how Woodson is a legit player and posts his NFL accolades...then it is just as pertinent to post those of the other person in the conversation.

UT has been the victim of the two most bull shite Heisman votes ever. That one, and Johnny Majors losing to Paul hornung, who played for a 2-9 (two and fricking nine) ND team.

Nope. The guy who got screwed in 56 instead of Majors was Jim Brown.

Brown absolutely shouldn't have finished 5th in the voting. He the RB was on a 7-1 team at the time of voting. Syracuse was ranked as high as 7 that season, and were out of the polls for 2 weeks....but let's face it...if he were white, Brown would have probably been the one to lose to Hourning and the media darling Notre Dame.

Majors was the wing back on a single wing UT team that was 10-0 at the time of Heisman voting. They had recently dropped from #1 to #2...but had blown out every opponent except for #2 Georgia Tech, that they beat 6-0. UT had a better record, was higher ranked and had a more impressive win...in today's standard...Majors was the best player on the better team.

Here is what won Hourning the heisman...59 of 111 passes for 917 yards, 3 tds and 13 interceptions...yep...he had over 4 times as many ints as he had tds.

Woodson, but yes Peyton in retrospect of what it became after him has to be the greatest football player ever.

Agree he should have won it, but as for your other statement GTFO.

He didnt just play QB though, you're conveniently excluding everything else he did. If you wanna say ND bias got him the Heisman on a losing team, then yeah I won't argue but don't misrepresent things to bolster your argument

Let's be honest.

Tommy McDonald of Oklahoma was better than Majors or Hornung that year.

3800 yards 36 touchdowns in the SEC in 1997 is like throwing for 5000 yards and 50 touchdowns in 2019

Tim Couch threw for more yards and TDs in the same and following year.

What are you talking about?

Charles Woodson is a legit NFL HOF'er.

Yeah, if only Manning had a decent NFL career

Woodson was a great CB but him winning the Heisman was Big 10/East Coast media bias bullshite, IMO. It was a terrific year for Big Blue, though. They ended up sharing a NC they didn't deserve as well. Thank God for sportswriters.

Peyton Manning was always overrated. Had he played for Mississippi State and then the Browns he wouldn't be a hall of famer nor would he have made any all SEC team. Very mediocre quarterback surrounded by Stars.

It was not Big10 bias so much as it was anti Peyton bias.He had been hyped for the previous year or more about his greatness, how phenomenal he was,etc that by the midway point the national media started to look for an ABP candidate...and Woodson ws their man

Peyton is not the greatest college player ever. He is one of the best players ever, yes. Most of that is from his pro career though.
