You said men's athletics. We lead the basketball series, and the baseball series has meant a lot pretty much every year in recent memory (not the very near recent). So by men's athletics you just mean football? If you do, just say football. Otherwise it makes you look stupid. Hence my comment.

Clemson will be just fine against the heels. Next chance for an upset will be the ACC championship or playoffs. Wake is playing pretty well and probably has a small shot as well.

I’d agree here. Although Clemson has done pretty well against the gamecocks in baseball and basketball of late. South Carolina has more history in both sports. Clemson has the overall program dominance in football and soccer including the current bragging rights.

You are ruining South Carolina's "safe place". Their only relevance is in being a member of the SEC. Here they can escape the reality of being inconsequential in their home state. This is the one place they don't play second fiddle to Clemson, and these topics spoil even that for them.
