the barn by far - smelly little pit of despair, inhabited by inbred congenital liars - and that's from their chamber of commerce - anyone that says Starkville is even close to that cesspool hasn't been there - plus the MSU fans are a much better class of folks....the barn = stench.

I've got family in Starkville, so I go there every few years...TRUE STORY: one morning we were driving out of town and wanted a big breakfast like Waffle House or something, swear to God we drove half way around this COLLEGE town and we couldn't even find a freaking breakfast place - not ONE! we had to settle on Mickey D's
My vote hands down = Starkville
My vote hands down = Starkville

Imagine our surprise when we tried to go out on Wednesday night before the Thursday night game this year and had people mock the notion that people would be going out to bars on a week night. Then of course the bars closed at fricking midnight

I am an avid college football fan and have traveled to many of neutral games where I had no affiliation.
As someone who is not affiliated with the SEC (I'm an Aggie), I'd say Athens tops the list.
Nashville is a great town and has good nightlife.
Knoxville is decent. Fayetteville is probably the most scenic and nothing like the other SEC towns.
Starkville and Oxford are meh and probably at the bottom of the list for me, but I've had a good time there. It's what you make of it.

Baton Rouge has the best economy of anywhere in the SEC. And most upside of any SEC town by far, except maybe Nashville. Ole Miss and Alabama have the best greek life. Arkansas has wonderful scenery and an eclectic lifestyle.
This is ridiculous...Fayetteville and NWA in general is a boomtown and has been for more than a decade.

definitely wouldn't want to live there between the ages of 25-40, I feel like that is true for most every SEC town though minus Nashville
I'd love to live in Athens after graduating. But maybe that's just me since I plan on teaching

I think that Tuscaloser is horrible and so is Auburn. Neither one of them provide anything to attract tourists and the people are pretty rude. Starkvegas (which was coined by Skip Bertman) is rather drab and isolated.

TRUE STORY:
There's a Waffle House right down the road from campus but I guess you were to stupid to ask your family or use a smart phone? Starkville Cafe in downtown is the best breakfast in town. But again, your family couldn't tell you this? You couldn't find the Huddle House on the east side? Shall I go on?

Starkville cafe downtown has one of the best breakfasts you'd ever want to eat. In small towns you have to look and ask for good places to eat just line in Oxford you have to try non chain places run by local businessmen.
