the cotton district in starkville isnt that bad at all, but yeah...starkvegas is prob. the worst.
eta- if they keep expanding the cotton distric, starkville might become one of the better towns.

Not saying anything about Starkville here, but that has to be the worst "nickname" for a town in the history if nicknames...

I didn't say it wasn't. I grew up in N. MS, I know all about it. Even my State friends think it's stupid. Either way, carry on...

You make it seem like that's a bad attribute.

Where do people bass fish around Starkville? Just private ponds or what?
Posted on 12/30/10 at 12:16 pm to Tolbert1906
Nothing wrong with bass fishing

Yeah. A classmate had some hunting land with a few nice size ponds about 20 minutes out of town. The Wildlife Refuge is another between Starkville and Louisville. Tombigbee River has great crappie fishing as well as bass.

Besides the square and Lamar, Oxford is really shitty. Hell 99 percent of Mississippi is a shite hole.

That is because Oxford has the southern small town feel that is why everyone loves it.

All of the SEC towns have at least one redeeming quality. Starkville is the most boring, but it's not a complete shite hole.

Acting like any one town is ridiculously ahead of the others is IMO. Athens is naturally my favorite, but for a 30 year old, it's meh at best. For a 21 year old, hells yes. Bars and cheap grub with a few places to take a high class piece of trim out to impress her, at least as much as a 20 year old can be impressed.
Each has something nice about it, but let's face it, the SEC towns themselves ain't really all that great. Cheap, decent apartments abound, and cost of living is good, but for anyone a little older, meh.
In an odd twist here, Lexington might actually be the best of the bunch.

I love Athens. If I hadn't chosen LSU, Georgia would've easily been my next choice.
Every SEC town is boring for the older residents, with the only exception being Nashville.

They're college towns. What else do you want?
And, while it doesn't have the offerings of other places, I can't say I hate Starkville. I obviously prefer Oxford but it's not as if I've ever not had fun in Starkville. Once again, it's a college town so, on a Friday, all you're really concerned with is getting wasted and having your pee-pee touched which, guess what, ain't hard to do in Starkville.
My State friends always showed me a good time there. A Friday night there with good people ain't that much different from a Friday night in Oxford with good people, especially if you're partying at somebody's house as opposed to a bar.
