I heard what he said, as he said it. Argue and believe what you want, you're going to no matter what.

Sheridan is dropping bombs on Finebaum right now...

Well.. he said the NCAA is alleging that statement, and you have repeatedly said you doubt the NCAA is his source, without actually hearing the statement he made, crediting the NCAA as his source.
Others have been trying their best to discredit him as a Bama homer and bookie, when he is neither.
Again - he's not reporting. He's insinuating.
It's interesting fodder to discuss.
But claiming he's dropped a bomb is a rather audacious claim to make when he's provided nothing of substance to back it up.
You don't know the meaning of the word "insinuate", do you? To insinuate means to suggest or to hint. Sheridan did neither. He told you exactly what his source told him...there was nothing suggestive about it. He told you, that according to his source, the NCAA had found the bag man, they think thet know the source of the money, and they are trying to get the bag man to go on the record. No hints, no suggestions.
What we have he is a respected member of the national media...someone who probablly makes a helluva lot more money than any Auburn fan in this thread (and Bama fans too, for that matter). He makes a living by be being connected and having good sources...and he says this one has never been wrong. At least one Auburn fan in this tread has at least been honest enough to admit to Sheridan's reputation and express concern. Most of the rest of you won't believe it until you've been hammered...much like the bulk of the USC fan base.

Whether it be twenty pages or two, a fail thread is still a fail thread and fails just as hard as it would in any case.

Team Speed Kills has a wrap-up of what Sheridan said.
https://www.teamspeedkills.com/2011/7/20/2285291/cam-newton-danny-sheridan-finebaum
So he doesn't know if the supposed bagman will step forward. He CLEARLY states that he doesn't even know if the NCAA has any evidence. And the supposed bagman is NOT a "rogue alumni".
Hmmmm... seems that Sheridan's source also fed him info on FIFTEEN OTHER SCHOOLS. But (surprise of all ultimate surprises!) the one he seemed to just HAVE to go on the Finebama show and talk about is... Auburn. Wow! Whodathunkit?
And (quoting Sheridan above) the NCAA "feels" that Cecil got money. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww... they "feel".

Three-to-six months?
Our bagmen eat three-to-six months for fricking SNACKS, dawg!
Hmmmmmmmmmm...
Is it me or am I detecting a hint of sarcasm in that last sentence?

This is a direct quote: "They're trying to get a third person, allegedly the bag man, to step forward, and if he steps forward, it'll be a bad situation. But I don't know that he will step forward. I don't know if they have any evidence. I don't want you to misquote me." This "third party/bag man" would be someone doing the work so the someone else's fingerprints are not on the transaction. This third party is not a "rogue alumni".
So he doesn't know if the supposed bagman will step forward. He CLEARLY states that he doesn't even know if the NCAA has any evidence. And the supposed bagman is NOT a "rogue alumni".
quote:
Sheridan's sources at the NCAA are "25 years old" (as in, he's had a sources there that long; it's not a twentysomething feeding him info) and have never mislead him. There are also 15 other schools being looked at, but he will not name them. They feel money changed hands in the Newton case, but if it can't be proven, the case "will be dropped in probably three-to-six months."
Hmmmm... seems that Sheridan's source also fed him info on FIFTEEN OTHER SCHOOLS. But (surprise of all ultimate surprises!) the one he seemed to just HAVE to go on the Finebama show and talk about is... Auburn. Wow! Whodathunkit?

Three-to-six months?
quote:
Confusingly, Sheridan later says that "Auburn had nothing to do with this" and that this third party "I won't say was working for a rogue alumni." I don't get what he's hinting at here. If the third party didn't do this with the school's knowledge and wasn't working for a rogue alumni, who is he and why did he get involved?
Hmmmmmmmmmm...
quote:
Sheridan closes by saying the "they [the NCAA] think they know the third party, and they think they know the party that put up the money." That means the NCAA is looking at two entities here: someone who allegedly financed this alleged deal and someone who allegedly carried out this alleged deal. If the NCAA can remove the four "allegedly" instances out of that statement, Auburn's in deep trouble.
Is it me or am I detecting a hint of sarcasm in that last sentence?
