To get them to at least hold off signing today. To give them a shot down the road. You might still lose the guy later, but if they sign today they are gone for good.

You really think some kid who was going to sign with Clemson or UNC would stop and think "you know what, I'm going to wait" because Shane Beamer gives him a call a week before signing day?

The fact is beamer has screwed up by not 1) Getting to his new job. 2) Getting a staff in place and 3) Doing his best to get the best players signed that he can.

I’m not telling you that you will be competing for anything anytime soon.

Your leadership was horribly wrong in firing a coach that close to signing day, but Muschamp was DOA and wasn’t going to do much anyways.

I’m being honest with you that your bed was already made and that I’d rather burn down a trailer to try to build a starter ranch over a couple years than be content with what the previous coach was doing.

You cannot win at an elite level while Clemson is grabbing instate guys and stealing your air unless you go full Ole Miss. It is what it is, build your foundation and wait for your opportunity to take the next step.

1) Eliminate dead weight
2) work transfer portal/JUCO
3) build depth
4) find a QB somehow
5) move to 2nd tier of SEC E
6) wait for Dabo to give you a window to take them down instate so that you can take the next step

This is a 3-5 year build at best.

That's 8 basher posts against Beamer on page one. Did he stick your head in a toilet in middle school?

I'm not deluded enough to think we're competing with Clemson for recruits. But we're losing guys to GA southern. That's the bleeding you need to stop TODAY.

No. I just think our DUMB@$$ AD has screwed up once again.

I think Beamer is a super nice guy, and a really good person. I'm just not sure he's the right guy for the job right now.

We've got one (two actually) and our idiot OC refused to play him this year (over a guy that has had 3 ACL replacements... )

This is one reason why having an Early Signing Day in the heart of the coaching carousel season isn't a good thing, especially this year.

How does having a couple more Sun Belt recruits on your roster make your team more competitive in the SEC?

You think Beamer can't make phone calls to contacts from his home office? You think his dad can't make introductions to top HS coaches in the South.

And Beamer just put in 2 years as asst HC with one of the best Offense minds in the nation - Lincoln Riley. I'm interested to see what Beamer can do.

I will agree with this 110%.

I think I need to clarify that most of my frustration isn't with Beamer himself, but with our AD. At the time, he stated the main reason for firing Muschamp midseason was to get someone in place for early signing day. Well, the whole point of that is lost, IF YOU DON'T MAKE THE GUY SHOW UP BY ESD!!!

If Shane Beamer was the guy you're going after, you can wait until the end of the season to fire Muschamp. That would have saved the school about 2-3 Million dollars of Muschamp's buyout. Of course it doesn't look like our AD cares that much about $$$ anyway (seeing how he didn't sign Muschamp's last contract costing the school an extra $2 Mil on Muschamp's buyout... )

Even the past 2 seasons where we won 0 conference games, we recruited in the Top 25... that's still almost 100 spots better that SCAR, lol

I love how all the Bama fans are in here saying it's going to be OK. It is so easy for them to say when they can have the pick of the top 25 guys they want every year. So go choke on another #1 recruiting class ranking. I don't want to hear it. Walk 1 mile in our shoes for 1 season. Then come back and talk to us.

Chill, man. I just said that y'all have to give him a few years to get things built up. I'm not saying Beamer will do well, but it seems like he should at least be given a chance to build something.

Beamer is in over his head. I believe he got the job because of his father's connections and that's true for his entire career. shite, if you are in the coaching profession like Lane Kiffin at least come in and get people to talking and get potential recruits excited. South Carolina could be a good job but they shitted the bed with this hire.

he got the job cause tanner is a gullible fool, and he politicked his way to the job calling booster buddies and former players to support him. but, hes the hc now, im in wait and see what staff he puts together as he sold the fact that hed bring in a really highly valued staff. rumors as of now arent encouraging on that front. nothing announced just names floated arent all that he sold.

Whether Beamer turns out to be good choice or not is TBD. It is definitely high risk, but so was Clemson promoting unproven Dabo Swinney ten years ago. What is mind boggling to me is the retention of Tanner as AD. Muschamp's firing has been inevitable for two years; the fact that Caslen and the BOT did not first dismiss Tanner so that a new AD was in place for this crucial hire is the bigger blunder.

I doubt Beamer cares too much. I mean, if he's fired in March he leaves a multimillionaire with the ridiculously stupid buyout that I'm sure is in his contract. No pressure.

I actually disagree. I like the hire a lot. Shane is young, but he has gotten enough experience at some quality programs to build an effective offense and also recruit. He has recruiting in the SEC before. He has learned from high character coaches. I’d give him a chance before declaring failure.
