Not this again.

"Blah, blah, blah, but A&M required male students to enroll in ROTC until 1965...derp."

Yeah, and LSU didn't drop their ROTC requirement until 1969. You need to drop all the crying about being a military and ag school when you're talking to graduates of "The Old War Skule", being Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College. Face it, LSU and A&M had similar histories, the difference being that no one wanted to go to your shite-arse school in the 50s and 60s.

In 1928, LSU had an enrollment of 1800 students, which included some women. That same year, A&M had almost 2700.

By 1936 LSU had grown to 6,000 students, (again, some of which being women), while A&M had over 4000 - all male.

After WWII, by 1947, LSU had grown to 10,000 men and women students, while A&M had 8400 all males.

Let me know when the NCAA started letting co-eds play football, and you may have a point.

Sips destroy everything they are a part of. If not too careful it will happen to the rant as well.

Anxiety skyrocketed in early June after Austin’s 104.9 FM interviewed Dave Brown, the Longhorn Network’s vice president for programming and acquisitions. His responses seemed to confirm the worst fears that the Longhorn Network would zoom from zero to overkill with 18 high school games on Thursdays and Saturdays. Brown specifically mentioned star Aledo running back Johnathan Gray, who has orally committed to Texas but not signed a letter of intent. “I know people are going to want to see Johnathan Gray. I can’t wait to see Johnathan Gray,” Brown told the station. “Feedback we got from our audience is they just want to see Johnathan Gray run — whether it’s 45-0 or not, they want to see more Johnathan Gray.” Brown suggested another Texas commitment, Arizona QB Connor Brewer, could get the spotlight treatment.

Clearly there was no intent to commit NCAA violations here or get an impermissible advantage.

Of course, it's an NCAA violation for an individual affiliated with an athletic program to name a player who has not yet signed a letter of intent...

I mean they should get over it . A&M plays big games while Texas not so much. Liberty and Texas bowls are the only secvs big 12 tie ins well except the playoffs. That will be the next game. A netrual site is stupid especially when both teams already have one at the cotton bowl. Of course tex is at the crappy Cotton bowl with ou.

exactly. Texas needs to accept that we are gone and are not going to schedule them in football ever again. So Jesus, stop bugging us about it. Have some goddamn respect for yourselves

A&M profit $46.6M

What's your point?

The all-time series is so slanted in UT’s favor, I don’t blame the Aggies for running from it.

Fixing your teeth wouldn't be nearly as expensive Daniel. Better get it done before you lose them.

The Volunteers have only played us 3 times, winning 2 and losing 1.

How many of you would vote or like to see your team renew the rivalry between Texas?

I know there is a lot of bad blood but that is also what football is about. It would also never allow anyone to discount your OOC schedule and as an outsider I see it as an Iron Bowlish type of game. I may not lose sleep over who wins but it would definitely be a big name game I would make sure to watch.

And yes I know you have a big OOC game this year. I am just speaking in general

Back to the original question (ignoring the trolls), I am not in favor of playing them anytime soon. If playing 2 P5 schools becomes the norm, I'd consider it, but I think that's a good long ways down the road.

There are some A&M fans who are nostalgic about it, but, even if we were to resume playing them, the old rivalry is never coming back, as this game will only be played in September, if it's played at all. We aren't going to ask the SEC to reconfigure the conference schedule for a nonconference school that has dropped us from the schedule twice. When the third time rolls around, we need to ensure that it doesn't screw things up any more than any other nonconference series being dropped.

So crappy that its one of the most in demand tickets in college football this year.

C'mon man. I respect the trash talk from aggies because it's funny and usually pretty creative, but you can do better than this...
