How many of you would vote or like to see your team renew the rivalry between Texas?

I know there is a lot of bad blood but that is also what football is about. It would also never allow anyone to discount your OOC schedule and as an outsider I see it as an Iron Bowlish type of game. I may not lose sleep over who wins but it would definitely be a big name game I would make sure to watch.

And yes I know you have a big OOC game this year. I am just speaking in general

You’ll find the response is a resounding no. Less serious A&M fans are for it, but the die-hards realize that scheduling Texas helps them solve a major problem they have with a consistently putrid home schedule, helps them deal with a recruiting problem relative to their conference, and are just sick of their shite. So, no...we don’t want to schedule then.

Yeah, what he said. Message-board Ags will mostly be "no" and the more casual fans will be "yes".

At this point it only helps Texas.

We asked the SEC for 3 years to get Texas back on the schedule for Thanksgiving. After that, the SEC moved the A&M-LSU game to Thanksgiving for "rivalry week". A&M vs Texas in September just doesn't have the same fan appeal.

In general, if at some point in the future our AD feels that it would be beneficial to A&M, then we’ll put them on the schedule

It is a lot like Arkansas after we left the SWC. We couldn't get Texas on our schedule for love or money. After a few years we stopped giving a rat's patoot whether we played them again.

We eventually did get them back on the schedule (every now and then) and we do like to beat them, Texas is still our most hated rival, but its not something we are chomping at the bit for. Its... nice. Like playing Notre Dame. It should be a nice game.

Texas shot themselves in the pecker on this one. They should have moved heaven and hell to get A&M back as a permanent rival. As is Texas has one marque game a year, Oklahoma, and national interest in that is not nearly as high as it used to be.

Texas can screw up a wet dream. They could have easily had the Aggies when it was a seller's market. Now it is a buyer's market and the Aggies are ho hum about buying what Texas is selling.

How ironic is it that A&M doesn't want to play Texas because A&M doesn't want legitimize Texas. And its true, Texas needs this game much more than A&M does.

Well done Texas. You did this to yourselves. Every bit of it.

And this game is never on campus. Here is Texas' home schedule next year. They shot themselves in the dick by running everybody off.

USF
UTEP
Baylor
Iowa State
TCU
West Virginia

A&M clowned Texas and left them with a big bag of shite

Well their mascot is a castrated bull, so they've got a lot of practice removing the balls from those that represent them.

We tried to keep the game on the schedule. We and the SEC kept our Rivalry week slot open at first hoping they would come around. They said no.

frick em.

LSU is our Rivalry Week game now, and I like it that way.

You’re absolutely right Hugh that A&M playing Texas would help the horns strength of schedule and recruiting but wouldn’t it also help A&M’s instate recruiting too? Y’all get to prove who is king of Texas on the field to the recruits. I’m biased because I’d love to see it but truthfully I understand why y’all would not be eager to help your enemies at all.

This is true. The SEC and A&M did everything but try to physically drag Texas to the game.

Texas could have had a gold mine. Instead they gave themselves the shaft.

They are the most untrustworthy cock sucking shits ever walked the face of the earth.

They are terrible business partners only looking out for themselves not someone you would want to get in bed with.

We left the conference because of those asswipes. Adding them to our schedule does nothing.

Granted, the chief asswipe, DeLoss Dodds, is gone., but the entire fanbase bought into his shite.

I'm sure Randy has responded to this thread five times with his different alters. But, there you go.

Maybe we'll do something in 40 years a la Bama/Auburn.

The media does that already with propping the SEC up. If A&M is able to win in the SEC, I don't think a game against Texas will be all that needed.
